Can't format Micro SD card

Hi,

I have a Sony Go (ST27i) which had a 4gb sd card installed. I recently bought a 16gb card (samsung) and put that in phone. The phone does recognise that a new sd card has been inserted, within Storage, it displays that there is there is total space on the sd card of 14.64gb.

However, when I transfer data to the card, the phone still thinks there is only 4gb. I tried to format the 16gb card via my pc. I clicked on format and after a few seconds, windows had an error with it. When I tried to format again (selected the 'removeable device') I got a message saying that there was no device attached.

Any ideas how to solve this, or is it a faulty card?

Thanks

I believe you should post in relevant section. There are chances of getting response fast. This belongs to Xperia SP only.

Moved thread to proper forum...

As your computer also gives an error it sounds like you have a problem with your SD-card. You could try removing all partitions on it and then create a new using a software like http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool-Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html but if that doesn't help i think you need to get this card replaced.
