A lot of people like me has this media storage bug on the xperia tipo. Whenever its database builds up, it's miserable to use a phone like this.. From time to time I have to keep clearing the media storage app's data in order to keep using the phone. And when I'm done with that VOILA there ain't nothing in the music player and in the gallery and not to mention the ringtones in the phone don't ring anymore.

Why have you guys not come up with a bug fix? The phone has been around for 3 years now and I'm pretty sure you've had dozens and dozens more complains like this.

I've even heard that certain builds were better than the latest build regarding this bug. Why so?

Media Storage/Scanning problem for TIPO DUAL.

Hey, guys, I'm facing a problem with my tipo dual relating to media scanning...

When I reboot my phone, the music player scans for media and it shows the last played song. At that point of time I can only do three things....Previous track, Play/Pause, Next Track (Basic Music controls). But I can't access library and "Now Playing".It shows "Updating music library".......It lasts about 10-15 mins which isn't a big deal.

The Main Problem: But sometimes, all the stored database gets deleted leaving the Music and Gallery with no music and pictures respectively.......It shows "Music Library Empty".(a scan starts automatically after this happens which lasts about 30 mins or sometimes even more than that!!)......Which really gets on my nerves!!.......This happens sometimes when I change a file name through a file manager (ES File Explorer). And always happens when I edit album art cover through an ID3 tagging app which saves the modified album art in the file .mp3 (Inititaes a media scan) followed by the above problem.

I have Player Pro installed which I use to edit Id3 tags (Just the Titles, Artists and Albums).Doing so the changes take effect without leading to a scan

SD card details: Samsung 8GB, Class 6

Does anyone else encounter the same problem as I do or has it got to do something with this particular unit in my hand?

Check if you have an app called media storage or similar under all app's (settings > app's > all app's).

Then try to clear data for it and reboot your phone.

You can also try to clear data for your music player app.

You will not lose any songs by doing this.
