in sony xperia E c1504 if i get any new messages it beeps but the screen is not even glowing and notification light is not glowing and one more thing is if i got missed calls it is not glowing too. screen glows only when someone calls

if you want the screen to turn on like an iphone when you receive messages then you have to install an app to do so.
