Xperia T just keeps restarting!

Had my Xperia T since October last year, its been ok, often gets very hot and has turned it self off a few times because of it. Tonight the phone is just constantly restarting. It gets as far as the home screen that restarts, sometimes it will stay on homescreen for few seconds but then restarts again! HAve tried removing sim/sd card but makes no difference. AM now just waiting for the battery to run flat to see if that has any effect!

Anyone else have simliar problems...who should i go to about it?

Yes I've had the same issue. My phone would occasionally restart on its own and then last week it started switching off all the time. Interestingly when charging it would be ok but when discharging and anywhere between 60-20% it would keep switching off again. That battery also would get very warm. I live in the uk and my phones gone in to repair via the Three network. Did you get your phone sorted out?

Same issue with mine. Sony are in denial that this is a big problem with the XperiaT.

My phone has been away at Sony UK repair centre for the last 3 weeks now. No idea if they have come to a conclusion or resolved the issue. I was promised 5-7 days!!

Well after a week and a half I have my phone back. The three repair centre say 'our repair centre engineers carried out a electrical repair which involved soldering and replacing parts! No idea what they did but so far phone seems cured. Sorry I can't shed any light on what the problem was:(

Hi there, I had the same problem happen to me. I purchased my Xperia T in October 2012 and have only been experiencing these restarts for about 2 weeks from now. The gut feeling I had that started this was after I was using my phone as a GPS and charging it in my car at the same time, my phone became really hot and shut itself down.
Anyways, I almost 100% knew it was the battery. SO, I went online to purchase a Brand new battery and replaced it myself. After 2 days use, it is as good as New! (so far) Proving more to the point that is was indeed the battery.
I knew that if I sent it to Sony they would take too long and possibly not even fix it. Instead it took me a few mins to look for the New battery and less than 30 mins to install it!

You can actually disassemble your phone and see if there are any traces of a recent repair..

My DIY skills are seriously lacking lol and I don't want to void the warranty so I shan't bother. Thanks for your post though. I had a strong suspicion it was a battery fault. Funny enough I've been using GPS 'Waze' quite a bit recently and also noticed the battery setting hot and shutting down. May be it fried the battery.

Sony repair centre couldnt even fix or be bothered to fix mine. The ignroed my device in the repair centre for 3 weeks then when I made contact paniced and just sent me a replacement so unfortunatly no diagnostics were done on my device to see why it was broken.

yup me too. Ph is only a few months old. Software update not working. Boo. was fed up with my old Galaxy S, this was great for a while. Looks like HTC gets my next vote although I expect all smart ph's never really do what they say on the tin.

Since October 2012 to today I have had 6, YES 6 Sony Experia T's.

I am with Orange and they are refusing to give me a drifferent make or model. I know for a fact both O2 and Vodafone have stopped selling these phones due to the problems.

I have tried everything including emailing Sony head office and the response i got was to update my phone, which i did on many occasions on every phone i had and still i have the same model.

Orange are hopeless but there are 2 kind soles in Orange who's email address i have who have asked me to email any problems i have with the phone and they will try and help me out.

The problems i have had with my many of Sony Experia T are:

1, Phone turns it self on and off x3

2, Phone burns out and no sign of life x2

3, sets the alarm off every 30 mins during my beauty sleeep (believe me i need it) x1

And the faulty code is: FW610 or FW615

So Sony what are you going to do about this because so far i have had to pay out 6 lots of Insurance exsess of £25 each that £150 in total for a phone that clearly doesn't work!

i have had my phone ( xperia T ) around a year and an a half now i have had no problem with it untill recently since its udated its self !! it keeps restarting its self bout 20 times a day which is draining the battery within moments it freezes when im trying to text or im trying to make a phone call the speaker on the phone isnt very loud so i cant here anyone on the phone unless its on loud speaker its getting beyond a joke now i cant even use my phone for 5 minutes at times as it keeps restarting or freezing !!

Xperia j just keeps restarting!

i have downloaded pc companion but the issue has become even more sewere now , as the phone starts restarting and shutting down within a few seconds due to which pc companion doesnt pick any device! n connection error occurs! how can i update or repair the phone when phone doesnt even respond!

please suggest!

I had the same problem. So I took my phone in for service and had them install a new battery. It took three weeks for them to ge the battery. Then installed it. My phone worked perfectly for two months and now the exact same problem has just started again!!! So replacin your battery will fix it temprarily but not permanently! Also I should note that I do not download any apps ever. I use my phone for calling and texting and occassionally checking my email. Also i have Avast security on my phone as reccommended to prevent any viruses incase I use google.

I AM VERY SORRY I EVER PURCHASED A SONY PHONE. I SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH LG. I had LG phones for the prior ten years to buying this one and i never had any problems or had to replace a part or battery in my phone. my next phone will be a LG and it looks like I am going need to buy it sooner rather than later. Would have thought I could atleast get six mo0nths out of my sony phone but doesn't look like it. I'll take it in tomorrow and try a second repair charge in under six months to see if they can fix it but I will not be buying another brand new battery after only two months since the last one was installed and ionstalled by a professionsl
