I'm currently experiencing a similar problem. I accidentally disconnected my phone when updates were about 90% complete, and the phone shut down shortly after. Now whenever trying to start it, the 'Sony' startup logo will show for some time then the phone will just switch off again. I have tried plugging it back into the computer to retry the update with no luck... When I use 'Sony PC Companion' manually, it says that my phone needs to be switched on and reconnected, which I can't do.... Any help would be much appreciated

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, click start under Support Zone > start under Update phone > select Repair phone (in blue text) > Do all this without having the phone connected to the PC.

Then follow the instructions given to you in the program. You will have to turn the phone off when repairing the phone in PCC. Press and hold the power button and the volume up button until the phone vibrates three (3) times to turn if off.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.
