Hi, were all the ports firmly closed on the handset? If they were not closed, the handset would not be water resistant. If you feel there may have been an issue with the water resistance of your handset, I would recommend that you have your handset examined at an authorised service location.

-

What do you think about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey

To who it may concern,

I have just had a very bad experience with my Sony Xperia V. When I got the phone two weeks ago I tried the water proof/resistance feature and I was happy with it and it was working after making contact with the water.

Two weeks later (namely Friday 8th August) my phone was on the table and a jug of water fell on the table and all over the phone I then shaked it off and dried it as best I could a few moments later then phone started doing all kinds of weird things namely, vibrating, selecting options by itself and then moments later nothing anymore “it’s all dead”.

When I saw the advert for the Sony V the phone fell into a fish bowl clearly giving the customer the idea that it's waterproof. I'm really disappointed and am now without a phone and having to pay to repair my water damaged water-resistant Sony Xperia V, because my service provider voids the warrantee when a phone is damaged by water.

Who can I take this issue up with as I feel that I have been hard done by?

R 3 600 (they need to replace most of the electronics) and I feel that it is really unfair due to the adverts you guys have up of the phone falling in fish bowls and getting rinsed, I feel its false advertising, the whole reason I bought the phone was because of its water resistant features.

I really feel hard done by…..
