Custom ringtones not working after ICS update - please help!!!

Hi,

I'm getting really desperate and hope someone here can help me.

After updating my Xperia Arc S to Ice Cream Sandwich, my custom ringtones for specific contacts no longer work. When I go and check under each contact, my chosen ringtones are selected, but when a call comes in from one of them, it plays the default ringtone.

I've scoured the net for solutions and have tried everything from moving the custom ringtones to a folder on the SD card to doing a factory reset and NONE of the proposed solutions have solved the problem.

I've been researching and trying to fix this issue for over 6 months now and I'm at the end of my rope (and even more depressing, this is only one of the many problems I have with this phone on a daily basis - i.e. apps crash all the time, phone is sluggish and shortcuts disappear everytime I reboot).

Should I just give up and go back to Gingerbread? Would that fix the problem? (If so, can someone tell me how to do this?)

I really hope someone can help me. Right now I have to constantly resist the urge to smash the damn thing against a wall! LOL

I have a feeling although Xperia Arc S has been highlighted to be upgradable to ICS, the hardware doesn't quite compatible with ICS requirement. There are some reports of Auto-Reboot problems.

I suggest that you start with reinstalling/repair the phone software using PC Companion:

If the problems persist I suggest that you have your phone examined at a service center. Please contact your local support for more information about service and downgrade options.
