Will alarms still activate if the phone has been turned off?

It seems that if I have activated an alarm on my X10 Mini Pro and the phone is then turned off that the alarm won't then activate. This means I have to leave the phone on if I want the alarm to work. Am I doing something wrong here?

Hi,

We noticed your post hasn't been responded to so we're here to help you further with this.

The alarm feature on the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro does require the handset to be powered on in order for this to activate correctly. Therefore if your handset is powered off, the alarm will not be able to power the handset on to notify you.

I had the same problem but now I never turned off the phone. When I want to turn off the phone, I change the flight mode. I think that's ok!

Thanks for the responses. It has answered my question. It's a shame (and a pain) that Google's Android can't activate the alarm without the whole phone being turned on. This is a backward step from the standard alarm functionality in 'normal' phones like SE's regular range of phones. I don't like to have my phone on at night, just because I don't want to be disturbed by calls or messages (for which the flight mode could be used, as you pointed out) but because there is no point in wasting battery power. Oh well, I guess with Android you win some and you lose some but I consider this a backward step in basic functionality!

Friend, please remember that android is an OS. You can’t set an alarm in windows that goes on while the system is shutdown. Similar is the case with android. Most of the smart phones, to my knowledge cannot ring the alarm while switched off.
