Thanks for the response Jake, I did a factory reset, which seemed to correct the issue, however once the phone got to about 90%+ charge, the problem with the nonresponsvie apps started [both times]. The phone didn't feel hot, so I dont think there is any overheating issue. Could you explain to me though how I go about repairing the phone with pc companion? All it seems to off me is updating the phone and tranferring data.

Recieved my Sony Xperia Z Tuesday afternoon and had been using it on the charge it came with. So far, there had been no issues with the phone except the battery draining rather quickly. I made sure to adjust certain setting to help alleviate the issue but I noticed that after charging the phone to almost full capacity, some of the apps were non responsive after tapping the icon constantly. The phone is in the process of getting swapped but I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem?

have you tried to reboot your phone to see if that fixes it? if not then try ussing repair method through pc program and see if nothing still then try fresh install of your android and if that also wont fix it then only thing left is to take to the store or local sony support center or so and let them have a look

Hey guys, thought I would give you an update regarding my issue. So I went ahead and did the repair on the phone via pc companion, everything seemed fine, but then later it happened again. Still, pressing icons on some of the apps wasn't opening them, it would take several hard presses to get them open. I then decided to sit and go through ever app to see which could open. I found in the end that it was the stock icons that were the problem for me.

With the stock icons you have to be very precise on where you have to tap with them. Because I rooted the phone, I was able to download a different launcher and install different icons, these icons are a lot more uniform in design than the stock icons. and seem to have a wider response area than the stock icons. The problem no longer exists, I haven't had any issues for the past two days even after the phone has been charged up fully, also after the repair, it seems that the baterry on the phone is a lot better.

Thanks for the help and fingers crossed, nothing else happens!
