Calling on Sony to Release Higher Performance Battery for Xperia V

For the past four months of using Xperia V, I have come to like the phone and be contented about it, except for one thing: battery life.

I understand that smartphones really consume much power compared to any feature phones, but the battery life of my Xperia V, and I guess even other users would agree with me, is so disappointing that I have to resort to this forum in order for Sony to listen (if they really care about their customers).

My phone, even with the updates I have had, only lasts at an average of 15 to 20 hours (about 50 percent of which is on standby/idle) so I need to charge even before the day ends.

Now to the everdearest Sony customer support group, if you can't do something about the battery life through software/system updates, isn't just possible if you just produce higher-performance battery life (with higher mAH of course) for Xperia V users?

I am quite surprised that since you introduced Xperia, there have been so many Xperia models already released. I don't care if you think this is the best marketing pitch, but I just hope you won't take for granted customers who have already bought the Xperia V. The model itself is good, but there is one important department to which your tech people have forgot about this phone--battery life.

I don't leave my data/wifi on the whole time. I only browse most of the time, so I turn off data/wifi everytime I'm done. The collective, average time I spent to browsing (through data OR wifi) is about 1 1/2 hours (two hours the most) per charge

I did sync as well, but I do manual, not auto-syncing. My screen's brightness is about 15 percent only and adapts to environment brightness. Seems to me that even when the phone is idle, battery drains 1 percent every two or three minutes, and drains much more faster when you are using it.

Are you an Xperia V user? How long does your battery last?

charge your phone 100% > let it drain to 10% then take screenshots of

the battery graph

the list

and tap on the top 3 items on the list

total of 5 screenshots

I don't have the Xperia V, I have the Xperia T, S, Z, Arc, etc

my Xperia T does drain the battery fast but I have the LTE version and well I use it quite a bit so its normal that it will drain in few hours (heavy games, brightness 100%, gps on, sync on, music, camera, etc)

I don't mind charging every night, but I just do hope the battery would reach even for at least a day under normal use. but my xperia V, i think it would last for a day when I just let it on standby mode.

Totally agree with thread starter, Sony should produce a hihger capacity battery with the same dimenssion with the original ba800.

By the way thread starter, you could try to disable google location service in setting>location service. It helps me to squeeze out 5-6 hours more

Thanks dude. I feel it's Sony's obligation to their customers (especially the loyal ones, like me) to introduce updates to the phones (be it software or hardware), especially those they have just released. What they are doing now is to introduce new models. Since they launched Xperia V at IFA 2012 and the actual market release last December, they have introduced so many models already. It seems to me that the new models they are introducing are something like a mere improvement of the previous models they have just released.

Introducing new models is really good, but if you do it every month, I feel like Sony is doing a Nokia, remember when the latter introduce new phones (from late 90s to early 2000s) as if they are just changing underwear?

Well, I would still root for Sony though, one of the trusted brands I know. They just have to wake up, imho.

One think i didn't like with mugen power is the enhanced battery comes too bulky. besides, i really wanted Sony to fix their failure for the Xperia V model.
