Exchange didn't work after upgraded to 10.3.A.0.423

After upgraded to 10.3.A.0.423 this morning, the Exchange Account doesn't work anymore. It shows "server requires unsupported security features"

It was working perfectly before the upgrade.

Have tried to delete the Exchange Account and add the account back, didn't work.

Have changed the Security setting to either PIN or PASSWORD, didn't work.

Reloaded the cell phone, didn't work.

Any suggestion?

Can I fall back to the previous version?

It sounds like the server requires a security policy that the phone doesn't support. I suggest that you contact your IT department to see if they can change the policy's for your account.

I've got the same problem! Can you please explain what has changed with the recent upgrade? I also deleted the user certificates, however that neither helped...

But it was working fine before the upgrade. I called IT support and they

said they did not change anything.

Also this version seems to be not stable, sometimes the phone signal

will gone for a while and come back 30 seconds later. I was not moving at that time and it happened more often.

And, the screen capture is gone, don't why Sony remove this...

I have the same problem.

What are the security policies that Xperia Z supported in the previous firmware that is not supported now?

Exchange server is crucial for many users. Sony must fix this problem immediately.

Any IT department would not do anything for Sony's problem as I guess

I have the exact same problem. This is no server issue since our server has not been touched and my other cyanogenmod 10.1 phone still works on it. This is an issue on client side. And if sony does not fix it well corporates will not like it.

good to hear that you still have signal mines totally nothing after the update. lets just say my xperia z is now officially 4.2.2 useless!

Same for me, got to buy moxier mail, now when it stopped worked, the phone is one of my main work tool, it must work!

I've the problem using the native Android email client. But you stated now that the problem occurs also using professional email clients such as Moxier. Can you confirm that as this was the advice I received from the IT department?

BTW: Is it working for any none Sony Smartphone running on 4.2.2?

excuse me if I expressed myself unclearly, Moxier works flawlessly towards my company's Exchange server and its security policy. Moxier is the exchange client recommended by our company of choice for devices that are not "native" supporting the security policy that prevails. (my assumption is that we have the same IT department... after a outlook and linked in search)

Vanilla Android 4.2.2 email client (read nexus) have the security settings / requirements that my company requires on the email client / device.

it seems that there is a bug that it is unable to download the certificate from a PKCS#12 file with a .pfx or a .p12 extension located in external storage.

I had no issues with the upgrades of 4.1.2 on my Xperia S & my current Z until the latest OTA update just yesterday afternoon.

I urge youand your team to URGENTLY look into this issue as it is deterimental to loads of XZ users in JB 4.2.2 who are using the Exchange for daily life's work.

come on Sony, it is not an issue with our individual company's IT and their servers.

it is apparently some bug issues within the new latest update.

collectively, I do hope the Sony R&D team listens to the rants here and do something about it soon.

after reading thru the link, threadstarter's post again and your post, means there is no way we can link up the default email/exchange app in our XZ after the JB 4.2.2 update?

I am having exactly the same issue. After the latest upgrade the exchange service stopped working, the reply is "Server requires unsupported security features".

The upgrade caused the problem because in my other Xperia Z 4.1.2 everything is still working fine.

I don't want to use Moxier mail cause I really liked the native app synchronization with the calendar.

Aren't there there any fixes already?
Is there a way to downgrade the firmware to the previous version?
On the server side, what should be changed to make it work?

That depends on your security policy on the server side, how the ActiveSync is setup, there is no generic answer to that question.

What we found in my case was that this policy not supported in the phone. “Allow Desktop Sync: False"

So, if you turn that off that on the server you have atleast taking care of one obstacle...

after screening thru google for relevant answers, found something, applied & viola..

after keying in the necessities info when creating an Email/Exchange account, let it "Waiting to be sync", go to:

Settings > Accounts > Exchange ActiveSync(it shld be there once you activate it), check Sync Email box > (still on same page, top right small column 3 dots button) Sync now

Also, do ensure that:

Settings > Data usage > (top right small column 3 dots button) check Auto-sync data box

Thereafter, wait a couple of mins, app shows & press "Activate" as device administrators.

Done!

BUT..... no more quick settings from lock screen.

Screen Display can no longer select 30mins, max 10mins...

I can't get my native email app to showw emails in html now. (Exchange Server). Trying to work this one out.

Screenshots are now achieved by power button and volume down at the same time (>1 sec)
