1) This has been confirmed many times... I would say this is the BIGGEST issue for the JB update... that includes Xperia S/SL and probably ION. The issue might be related to a drop in bitrate <STRIKE>while recording and strangely an increase in frame rate</STRIKE>.... Instead of being 30 fps and ~20 Mbps -> we are recording at<STRIKE> 60 fps</STRIKE> and ~11 Mbps..... I made a mistake reading the properties of the video files... though I was partially right about having a lower bitrate while recording, the frame rate was also lowered to around 17 fps... and this was the problem in jelly bean previous to .96 update. Seems to be resolved now

2) Quality of pictures seems the same for me... but there is a purple tint issue when using flash... the way around it is to use a different setting for White Balance instead of "Auto"...

3) I don't use this, I have Llama and Smart Connect to automate my phone and in turn optimize battery

4) Turning Google Now and Location Services off is probably the way to avoid this... I haven't had overheating though... but the Map app wakes itself over a thousand times in a couple of hours if you have Google Location Services turned On

5) This recently started to happen to me... Once while plugged to an Aux Cable and once while it was playing through bluetooth portable speakers... (it has not happened to my other bluetooth devices... Car Stereo, Headphones, House Speaker)

6) This is not an issue if you hit the play button and start playing... but if no songs play and you have songs in your phone it might be a bug...

7) This has not happened to me... I have been able to switch my Screen Lock successfully every single time.

I love this phone, and Sony has been making me love it more... specially with my other recent products (Sony HDTV, Car Stereo)... but they need to support properly their phones... And have a better bug killer...

I chose this phone over the V for many reasons, but specially because it is one of the last phone to still sport a micro HDMI connection (this leave free the microUSB for using it to plug a mouse), having 16GB internally and supporting more 3G bands...

Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding video recording this may have to do with the focus mode. If you're using Face detection (which is default) and have other apps running it may lag as face detection requires alot of CPU. When in video recording mode, tap the menu button and then Focus mode > Single auto focus.

We are working on improving it but if you have other apps running Face detection may lag.

Regarding problem 5 and 7, try making a repair in PC Companion and then try the phone without any 3:rd party apps and see if the problems remain. If so, i recommend that you contact a local service location for further investigation.

Regarding Walkman, make sure that you have opened an album or playlist first in the Walkman app.

Thanks for replying Rickard, but I have to disregard your suggestions regarding problems 1, 5 and 7...

1) Video Lagging problem is a known issue and generally a taboo subject among Sony's Support Team around here... We really wish you guys tell us that there will be a fix for this, cause switching on/off face detection is not enough. Full HD and HD video still lags and I even pointed out the file differences in my previous post. It has nothing to do with the focus mode on the device.

5) This problem was ignored by me at first, but then it has happened to me occasionally. Not very often but still it has happened and it should not be overlook... very annoying, way around it is to reboot device, and temporary bypass is to press Volume down and drag the virtual slider to Volume Up... until you can reboot.

7) This has not happened to me. But believe me when I tell you that I already try repairing my device in PC Companion and it did not changed the verified problems.

Beside what other people had encountered here I have a Accelerometer Sensor problem which seems to happen ramdomly but more likely when I use an app that require it the sensor to work a lot... (IE. Google's PhotoSpheres Camera App). Temporary fix is usually a reboot, but sometimes it needs a couple. And I witnessed a fix without reboot or input from my part... which seems to be a software glitch, anyway, that was the main reason I try the Repair tool with no success... Have you read something like this happened before? When problem appear, service test show no numbers for Accelerometer (X,Y,Z). Gyro also dies at this point.

My Acro S has the same problem with the video recording. Rolling back to version .55 solves the problem. It follows that a bug in the new firmware. Sony has a bad beta testers?

the video lagging is still the same, why with ics there no lag but with jellybean, obviously there bugs there, previous ics i open many program with video record also not that lag, hope to fix it,and the flash light problem,i think is white balance problem, the auto white balance is sucks, hope hdr mode coming soon and my battery now drain faster than before even though withbattery standby mode, looking forward for stamina mode, luckily my water resistant function still there:smileylaugh:,i think we just need wait for update to 4.3,4.2.2 is hopeless for acro s
