Hi can anyone explain why after I tried taking a picture using my Xperia V in the pool(not fully submerged) the phone leaked some water in.

There seemed to be some humidity in the camera lens and then screen started freezing. I immediatley took the battery out and blow dried it, afterwards the humidity evaporated from the lens but the phone's screen is not rotating anymore and whenever I try to open tabs in Chrome the phone automatically crashes!

This is the last thing I would expect from such a phone! PLEASE ADVISE!

If "waterproof" phone gets damaged by water, is this covered by warranty?

Xperia V is advertised as water- and dustproof, I haven't tried water but there is definitely dust leaking in through the back cover. I'm not happy about this at all.

@kuldahv warranty doesn't cover this.

like ahvenan said it's water/dust resistant not proof

as long as water/dust doesn't go inside the actual phone you shouldn't worry about it, perhaps you should consider the Xperia Z instead of the Xperia V as there isn't a back cover.

in the notice regarding the use of the phone in water it says to not use your phone in the following conditions:

ocean water

swimming pool

diving (>1m)

hot water

sand/mud

other liquid chemicals
