JELLY BEAN IMPROVEMENTS...

So its been almost a month since we, the Xperia P users received the jelly bean upgrade.

Although the update was welcoming, it still had some problems.

Listed are the issues that need to be addressed.

BUGS:

1. Notification Tone bug still exists.

2. General/Silent Mode bug.. this happened in my phone, i'm not sure whether everyone has it. if i put my phone on silent mode, and make a call, the phone again reverts to general mode.

3. Walkman sometimes goes back by 3-4 tracks while scrolling for next song.

4. Album App not showing pics.. I do not have this bug, but i hear many others are.

IMPROVEMENTS:

1. can the toggles in the notification bar be shifted a little more down?

2. Can we get back the Black background? i dont mind the white background, gives a little richer look, but kills me to operate the phone while goin to sleep when the lights are out.

3. Dialer and Call log Lags.. this is a serious issue.. have to wait for nearly a minute to make a call. same for accepting calls.. no tone plays for nearly the first 5 seconds, the phone just vibrates.

Last but not the least, the most biggest issue.. UPGRADE THE BATTERY.. its impossible to provide a good backup with the 1305 mAh battery no matter how light software you develop.

Any more suggestions.. Please comment.

- Quick Launch Camera bug - - slightly better on 6.2.A.1.100 but the problem still exists. When use Quick Shot/Launch camera - sometimes i get a message 'Error! Camera not available' SONY, FIX IT PLEASE.

- SMS/keyboard bug - (Sometimes during I type sms, when I press 'smiles' button, the 'smiles board' is displayed under the keyboard... It's a graphical bug. I don't have a screenshot yet, i will add it when I see that bug. - I don't now yet, still testing.

IMPROVEMENTS:

- working LED Notification in Stamina Mode (the colour of the light can be changeable) - 6.2.A.1.100 has't added any functions - only bug fixes.

Hello friend, maybe I have a different perception about the terms "improvement" and "bugs".

You have listed in your recommended improvements as the last point " Dialer and Call log Lags".

When you click(tap) on the name of the person that you want to call, sometimes, you can't close the comunications, the other side is talking and you don't have the button to close.

Try to tap two times one number of the your telephone address book ...when the telephone is stuck, look.

Maybe is more important to change the skin in black(i prefer white) or shift the toggle in the notification bar(i would prefer to take off them only occcupay space).

About your bugs ... i don't want to comment they, but ok, someone have the solution but you could solve by yourself or wait for a bug fix.

I am kidding, but this is a TELEPHONE and the most important an the most urgent, it's the CALL LAG.

Someone use it like a telephone(it is not walkman) and make and receive calls.

Customer satisfaction is not my field but we have to make constructive complaints.

I like japanese tecnology, only buy it.

I also understand the developers, but it is a BIG BUG.

I forgot about the battery, the slogan should be:"for the miracles we are preparing".:smileyhappy:

On the same boat here. I'm just tired of this phone, I'm a Sony fan but this will make me try another brand.

Some bugs is fixed on 6.2.A.1.100:)

Has anyone got this bug?

On 6.2.A.1.100, when I use Quick Shot/Launch camera - sometimes i get a message 'Error! Camera not available'

The problem is ONLY when I use Quick Shot/Launch on locked screen. When I normaly turn on, by using Camera from menu, everything is ok.

i too tried it 10 times just now, no issue. Please re install the firmware and do a factory reset after the device boots up and after the first boot let the device settle down DONOT PLAY WITH IT THE MOMENT IT STARTS KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 10 mins

Hello,in order to led work in Stamina mode,the phone needs root?

On my XP the led works only with Stamina mode off and color can not be changed.

You can find some apps on google play which let you change the led color.

hi alex .. is there any option to back up our games like real football 2012, contract killer, real racing 2.. i need to do a factory reset and once done my games get deleted,, then its much time taking to download those big games .. any specific app to back up games ... ..

You can do the reset without wiping the internal memory.A way of backing up games there is not.The only thing you can do is get the savegames somewhere safe and reinstall the games with downloading or copying of data after the reset.

Hello... So finally I got the JB update and did it through PCC and followed some basic procedure to make sure it happend flawlessly...

* Took back-up of all apps and data (although it’s not required)

* Updated the phone and dint touch it for first 15 min’s, although accepted the NFC firmware update and android auto update message.

Post update scene

* Settings > About phone > Android version: 4.1.2 yeah (multi press and played around with beans:smileysilly:)

* Opened the media apps and waited for files to get settled (little time taking process but worth waiting:smileywink:)

* Play store icon dint respond for the 1^st time and threw error saying app doesn’t exists and then for 2^nd time it worked (little crazy:smileyconfused:)

* Finally finally… the battery performance is significantly improved (wow I thought that would never happen:smileylove:)

* Accessed all the apps that could think of and it was splendid

* Connected to WIFI and downloaded a book for play book app (cool it was:smileycool:)

* Turned off the phone and waited for few seconds, turned it back on and boot up time was quick (not quick as ICS though)

* Altogether happy scene and as always happy Sony customer :smileyplus::smileyplus::smileyplus:
