[Xperia L]Multi-touch not working.

So it's been about 3 week's since i bought this device and so far i don't have a single issue with this device. But recently, i downloaded quite a lot of FPS games which require multi-touch (Modern Combat 4, Modern Combat 3, Gangstar 4 Vegas, Dead Trigger) and i am facing issue with all of them. Not lagging or anything, the games run without any problem at highest settings but the multi-touch dosn't seem to recognize two touches at a time.

To give a bit of a mental image of what I'm dealing with here, I go to play a game on my phone (one of the above) and so on one side I have the movement button's (Up, Down, Left, Right etc. and on the right I shoot/aim around the screen, well the thing is, if my finger is on a button on the left for the movement and I go to aim while at the same time continuing to move, movement stops and it treats my aiming side as if it were the only finger on the screen at the time. Though Multi-Touch tester (an app on play store) recognizes all the inputs. (screenshot below)

This is a very frustrating problem as i have neither dropped this device once nor has it got any kind of physical damage.

Really, Really need help. Is my device faulty or should i factory reset it including internal storage?

Hello Ishan

I have an Xperia L too and I tried using MultiTouch Tester and got accurate results. 1,2,3,4. Here are the screenshots.

So, this proves this is not a general bug. Consider updating though I still havent updated my phone even though the update is available (Im on .31)

Thank you so much for your reply I repaired my phone with sus. Even I'm on .31 didn't get the update though 😕 I'll try it out and see if the bug is gone!

MC4 is giving the same problem but now when i move my player and then aim, it sense only the aim but when i aim and the move, it works perfectly!

Also facing a graphical on the status bar.

The issue you told with MC4 happens in my cousin's Samsung Galaxy S4 too. Its not the phones bug if the multi touch tester works after the SUS Repair. Also, the do you use some launcher because this doesnt look like the official interface to me. If yes, did you try disabling the launcher and using the default one because I've never got this or similar graphics glitches. Been using the phone (Xperia L) over one month now.

Hello! I am an Xperia L user too, with the same problem. Researched with the debug/developer mode, and found out, that if you point your fingers at once, and pull them in an indifferent direction, the action will be recognizable, but if you use a single finger pulled (like for movement) and then touch and pull with the other hand, the action before goes null, dissapears from the memory (the pulled line disappeares, more simply the movement goes out and aiming/action remains), yet both touches are still recognized. I assume this is a software optimization error (memory) and ask from Sony to release a fix for it, or if there is some official/unofficial fix out there, I would ask for it.

I hope so, because I'm also having some issues while playing games like Batman and Dead Trigger 2. It's impossible to walk and aim in same time!

update your phone to 4.2.2 for fix this problem.

when I am playing a game I am not able to move the body and aim, because when I hold to aim, he stop moving.

games like gta 3 & shadowgun & dead space & ...

i am in iran.

sony please help us.

this is a hardware problem. sony service center could not fix it.and changed my phone with an xperia sp. i paid about 77$ because sp is more expensive.

Yes it is a hardware problem....we cannot fix it... only thing is if we use our mobile with thumb means it will be better....
And best solution is change your mobile.... but not go for a Sony products....
I lost the hope from Sony's buggy firmware, worst touchscreen and worst camera...
only they are concentrating on flagship moblies like Z series....
Sony is worst on budget mobiles..
So i won't recommend a Sony product to any friends in future....

Yeah their support towards midrange suckss. Change your mobile thats the only option. I cant believe Sony never even tested this phone before release?
