Poor Camera Quality with display protector

SONY,

I WANT TO KNOW WHY MY PREVIOUS POST WAS DELETED. IS SONY AFRAID OF ACCEPTING THE FACT THAT IT IS STILL EXPERIENCING CAMERA ISSUES EVEN AFTER THE LATEST UPDATE TO 10.1.1.A.1.253

Dear friends,

I am again reposting my problem here. Please help me.

The first two pics are taken in low light with superior mode( Flash enabled). When taken pics in low light, some kind of white light or image noise is seen in extreme right corner of pic.( which is marked in red)

However, the third pic, which is taken in full light and superior mode is found to be satisfactory.

Note: I am not using any kind of cover or case while capturing pics from XZ

I want to know whether this is some kind of configuration issue or every1 is facing this problem.

Please friends help me out !!!

AND SONY, INSTEAD OF DELETING MY POST, COMMENT ON THE POST AND RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM

calm down, there's a search bar on the top right side, you will find many other threasd on the same topic.

most likely you have something close to the flash or lens, either your finger, or a film protector. have you add it a new film protector on the back panel?

I have nothing close to the flash or lens while taking the pics. However, I do have the film protector on the back panel. But since this is provide by sony as box accessory, how can this affect camera quality.

I saw the other thread you mentioned for the same problem. After removing the protective film on back panel, How will I protect the back side from damage and scratches.

that extra film protector it's not available or included in all markets, so I don't know how it looks, just to double check, is the film that its pre-installed or an extra film that you apply on top of the shatter proof film?

if the later I would say to check if its too close to the flash, or the camera lens, also if there are bubbles that might be creating this issue, if you can take some pictures of the back pannel and camera lens area

uliwooly: I have added a film protector above the shatter proof film which was provided by sony as box accessory. As per your suggesstion, I have enclosed the pic of back side of XZ.You can see there is a film abobe the shatter proof screen which is being made in such a way that it does not cover camera, however, it do cover flash.

Let me know if i can make some adjustment in the protective film( cut it accordingly)

in such a way that except camera and flash, rest of the body is covered by protective film.

that's odd that Sony cover the flash, you could cut around it, but before you do so, try to lift the film 1/3 way down and take a picture with flash if you don't get the same purpleish problem then cut around the flash.

Yeah, I dont know why sony covered the flash. I will try as you said, however, I expect someone from sony provide me feedback regarding this.

Perhaps there's differences between different markets but the display protector we include in the box here in Sweden has a cut-out for the flash as well. Are you sure this is not something your dealer or operator has put in the box? If it was bundled by Sony i suggest you contact your local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/) as this may be market specific.

I can't confirm it but i can imagine that some of the light from the flash will be guided in the plastic film to the right side of the camera where the protector ends causing this problem.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Nikhil, I've experienced this too, it's a simple design flaw, the LED flash is simply too close to the lens, and causes this type of lens flare.

There's nothing you can do about it, just learn not to use or rely on the flash, as it will impact on your low-light pictures. Thankfully this isn't an issue for daytime photos outdoors.

I'm from India and bought this phone 2nd day from launch day in India (24th May). Phone came along with two screen protectors (Front and back) in the box/kit. After intalling them on the phone this is how it looks like...

This perticular issue did not appear on the first firmware update .454! After update to .253, for the first one week of update this issue did not show up. But now every time a photo is take in low light condition, a bluish color tint appears right side of the photo in the side.

Also there are a few black spots on the photos. Below is the image - photo taken against a white background.

I am currently testing and referring to logs to find out what is causing these issues. Hoping to zero on them in a day or two.

Rickard thanks for your reply. Now I have replaced the back protector with the new protector which has a cut out for flash as well. It seems the problem has gone, however the quality of images caputed in low light is still poor. Hope you guys resolve this in your next update.

Xperia Z Camera

My Xperia Z C6602 Camera pictures appear smoky(cloudy) white around the image, except i clean the camera lens/flash before taking every picture. This happens in a non-dusty environment especially at nights shots. This is so embarrassing as i have to clean the camera and flash continuously to take pics.
