The JB upgrade is a big dissapoitment for me, everything that I liked about my Xperia is gone. WHY DO AN UPDATE THAT TAKES AWAY EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOOD? Here is my list that I miss after 4 days of JB:

lock screen notification (received messages, emails, missed calls, facebook events, calendar updates) are gone, all what I get is a stupid picture on the lock screen.

LED notification - it only flashes on white, until now there were different colors for different events (red, green, blue, white).

the nice blue live wallpaper

I really like the black background color in the contact list, keypad, messages, incoming calls. Now it's white (or gray or something) and it's really hard to read it, in direct sunlight it's almost impossbile.

The automatic backlight adjustment is not wokring anymore, I checked the settings and ieverything is set up correctly.

Using stamina mode drains the battery faster than ICS without the power saving feature.

In one word: thank you Sony for ruining the best phone I ever owned until now. It's almost like having an ugly plastic Samsung. How can I go back to ICS?

Thank you uliwooly for your help. Since my phone is not rooted and I don't want root it (it's still in waranty, I bought it a few months ago) I will try to use Sony's update tool (I have to charge my phone first, since it's around 5%. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe not.

I can't take it to a Sony service (mostly because the nearest Sony service is 350 km away from me, secondly I use my phone on a daily basis, I can't just tell the my clients that "uh well, sorry but Sony made a stupid update".

I just hope that somebody is reading from Sony, this is one of the reason I choose a Sony device:

So thanks for nothing...

um ok but those aren't issues but preferences, and as for stamina > turn it on > tap on it, delete the apps that are on the list, if you don't it won't work as the data will remain on.

I know these are not issues, but these were some nice features. Why would they take it away? Did anybody complain about it? It's like taking your car to an oil change and they take rip out the air-con and headlights.

I turned off stamina mode. I closed all the apps that were running in the background (stamina was notifiong me to turn them off) but still the phone drained the battery faster. I ussualy was left with 25% of battery charge by 11PM, now it was 4%.

I know that's the idea of a smartphone, that I can customize it however I want it. In my case, I want it exactly how it was :smileylaugh:. I loved the appearance, the notifications, everything. Now I have to install something else to get back that was out of the package, and probably it won't look the same.

Here you have some screenshots from my usage today. I live in GMT+2 (currently it's GMT+3 beacause of daylight saving time):

there you have it, your wifi was on and "Active" all those hours, that's the reason yoru battery is draining, something its syncing, perhaps apps' background data, go to settings > accounts > tap on each account and check which app it's syncing (you will see the icon)

I don't see any issue with your battery, its 13hrs 36min take away an hour or 2 because you started charging your phone and you will still get 12-11hrs that's normal, but again, your wifi its not just on but active something its constantly syncing.

Okay, but shouldn't the stamina mode deactivate it when the screen is locked? I have 5 emails set up that constatly sync, but I didn't get a notification until I turned the screen on and around waited 5-6 seconds. Yesterday I left TuneLink on and I got a notification to turn it off. I can't see anything that would run in the background except the emails (which is set to a 5-5 min sync).

I have the following accounts set up to be synchronized (and these were on before the JB update):

5 emails

Facebook

Google

LinkedIn

Skype

Xperia - Facebook

Like I said, these were set up before the update and it didn't make any problems, so I can't see why would they. And today I had an easier day with just a few phonecalls.

Thanks for this, but like I said I don't want to flash it because of warranty issues, also I don't like hacking into things :smileyhappy:. By the way, the link you sent me doesn't mention anywhere LT22i or Xperia P, and there is a big red text saying -> DO NOT USE IT ON OTHER FW VERSIONS!!!

I saw it earlier, but I don't use exchange for my emails. All my accounts are from Google Apps, the reason I use the email clients vs. gmail client was to get the lock screen notifications. I saw some apps on the play store that can add this feature, but I still think it's stupid to instal 3rd party apps to get back a feature that was advertised all over...

I see that you didn't totally like the JB updates, so sad for that. Did you review all the JB updates before you upgrade your phone? Or did you upgrade it not knowing that the features you want will be removed? The white background and lock screen were both issues already discussed on the other phones with jelly bean update. Based from what you are disputing, it looks like you didn't review the JB updates. My advice for you is that you should review the updates first before upgrading it, so you wouldn't not regret it halfway or later.

No I didn't review the other updates, since I don't have that much of a free time to follow everything. I got the new update notification from PC companion when I connected my phone to my compter with wifi. There I saw that it's JB, Walkam app is updated, stamina mode and other bug fixes and maybe something more, so I said sure, why not update, I get more features for my phone. When I upgraded from GB to ICS there were no unpleasent surprises like these.

Thanks for your tipp, I will definetly ro a full review over an update before installing it
