Wi-Fi problem on version 6.2.b.0.200

Hello there,

I am using a Sony xperia S, I updated to version 6.2.b.0.200 and I only had a problem with the Wi-Fi.

The problem is that I can't find my home network nor any other network and the drvice just keep talling me "Searching for Wi-Fi networks".

Also I can't recognize the Wi-Fi mark in the top bar when it is on.

Hope somebody help!.

first try to troublehoot your router first i.e. restartarting, refreshing,. then try to do it on your Xperia, if still cant connect try to do a software one more time http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Thanks indeed , but unfortunately that didn't work, i can only use Wi-Fi when the sim card is not inserted.

you are from iran all of iranan have this problem and

sony says

We have acknowledged this and plan to fix this in upcoming software update (6.2.B.0.211). The roll out of this update is planned to start week 23-24.

As always when rolling out new software versions. It might not reach your device upon roll out start since it rolls out gradually. I suggest that you use PC Companion, Update Service or Bridge for mac to check for software updates from time to time.

Dear all

Please be inform that if your wifi Doesn't work anymore when you put in your sim card its only beacuse of technology sanction on your country and your network operator. This limitation mostly applied by Qualcomm company who made the smart phone processors. And SONY have to obay the international ruls which unfotunately bother us very much, I also faced with same problem after upgrading to JB on my Xperia S!

but Sony Android development team can solve this probelm in less than a second with very small software patch which can install on your device easly. So its better to politely ask them to help for solution quickly and also learn them we are a normal people who loves to use technoly and have a special respect for Sony products (at least I have) so they are not allowd to bother us because of political things.

Finally I wish Sony rolles out this update very very soon. Otherwise we have to use unsafe solutions which are hard and dangerous.

New update for firmware to 6.2.B.0.211 should be launched this week, latest 16 June 2013. As usual no details what it will fix but hopefully the camera software and wifi issue.
