Battery After the JB Update.

Hello Friends ,

The battery life has taken a beating after the JB update. or is it just me. The Stamina mode is not as good as the ics Extended Standby option. the battery loss in standby is much more than ICS. i used to loose 2-3% with Extended standby on ics but now i Loose 10-15% over night with stamina mode and low battery mode enabled.

Plz give ur reviews.

try to Fix you device on SUS or PCC, as for my Review. the Stamina mode helps a LOT! than the ICS exetended standby mode, my Xperia P doesn;t loose any battery at night., and for my suprise today, I still haven't charged my phone since Last night.

My friend, i could not agree more with you. Same problems with the battery here as well, ICS was much more stable, stamina mode does not seem to work (while the ICS extended battery mode was much better) and what is with this stupid white background in calls and messages? Not only I dont like it, as known white background drains battery faster. And I think ICS was much smoother, I am thinking of sending it back to sony to downgrade to ICS again.

SONY, ARE YOU LISTENING? WE NEED AN UPGRADE TO FIX THESE 2 THINGS I JUST MENTIONED. OR YOU WILL AGAIN FOLLOW YOUR POLICY AND FORGET US, THE OLD CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU DID WITH MY XPERIA X10 MINI PRO, MY XPERIA MINI PRO AND ARC S?

are you familiar to the 90% charging thing?

try after the battery status becomes 100% try charging it 30 mins exceed and the battery will be more functional and last longer than the ones who just charge it . and if doesnt work and your battery drops fast try rebooting your phone. maybe it will work thnaks

totally true, battery life is down, atm killing the battery then gonna leave it to charge while dead! will only boot to confirm if its full! attaching screens of battery life + CPU usage!

I think the solution to the battery issue is battery Calibration. As i would like to share my exp with u guys i calibrated my battery(Since i am rooted) and now i guess the performace is increasing gradually. still need another full recharge discharge cycles.

Plz try this out and see if it helps: (Non Rooted Phones)

1) Once u Done with the JB installation Reeboot and keep ur phone aside for say 10 mins(Stop playing with it as soon as it reboots) DO NOT DO A THING LET THE PHONE SETTLE DOWN AND PREFERABLEY DO A FACTORY RESET

2)Once thats done charge ur device to 100% (Check ur charge not by the % indicator but thru the graph.) once it shows 100% reebot your device and i assume it would show 99% or yes its can even show u a much lower % after u reeboot.

3)Again Charge it for say 30 mins let it charge like say 15 mins even after it shows 100%.

4)Use your phone normally as u always do and make sure u drain it completely.(DO NOT RECHARGE IT IN BETWEEN)

5)RECHARGE IT COMPLETELY TO 100% NONSTOP !!

Repeat steps 4 and 5 atleast Thrice(4 charge discharge cycles prefered) and i hope it would help u get optimum performance out of your battery.

That's odd. It's not happening on my phone. My phone lasts for about 2-3 days. Says I just use it for call and texting. With little playing and camera thing. It lasted for abt 2-3 days. I already do that full charge and discharge. And another thing, I disabled the weather widget. I only use GSM. At overnight, it only consumes 1% battery, just make sure you don't leave any apps open.

yeah me too, It's not happening on my phone, yesterday my Phone last for 1 day and 5 hours,

with some minimal temple run 2 usage and 2fuse, then 15 minutes of music, overnight, well my phone is 66% at that time, when I woke still 66%, so i don't know with your issues guys, after the update did you factory data reset the phone? cause I always do that every update to avoid some ICS files left when I update to JB. Stamina Mode is a bug help for me though.

I am still facing the battery bug of ics that is false percentage on jb. My install was clean. I did factory reset and also dint restore my old data.

hmm, I think some Sony experts need to answer this, as of now I'd still haven't face some problems on the batter since I'm not a heavy phone user, currently. I have 37% left, I've charged my phone last midnight 12:35am , it's almost 12:00am here.

I ve already chrgd my phone. But my screen time on was arnd 2 and half hour.. I m cncernd abt the suden drop in batery as u can see at d start frm 90 it went down to 75. And der r few spikes even though i did not charge my phone except 1ce in between.

I know ICS had these kind of problems,showing false battery percentage,but now on JB it should not be the same...

Updating via SUS really helps...but the only problem is the default "Power Management" still dosen't show the battery stats...you need some 3rd party app to tell you exact battery stats...

battery consumption ( i had charged battery a little in between also)

though the battery is definately detorieated after updating...but its not that all bad ever since i had updated via SUS....

but the fact that the "Power Management" dosen't show real stats and that STAMINA mode also dosen't really help is tragic..

What network mode did you select? Is it GMS only? Try calibrating your battery. Do four times of full recharge and discharge of battery. Give it a try. If it doesn'w work, you may reinstall your JB upgrade. Tell me if this tips help you. Thanks!

Oh yes dude the same thing happend to me today morning. whether battery is 0% or 100 % the stamina mode just kept on showing 5 hours.

Tried a factory reset didnt help.

Then finally Flashed JB through flashtool and now its showing something other than 5hours:smileysilly:

And friends for those who want to keep certain apps running even while using stamina mode we can add exceptions to it also, but it fails to fullfill the purpose though

Eg: I exclude whatsapp to be always on which means my data connection will always be on so i felt it to be a lil stupid. if m wrong plz do correct me.

anybody facing problem with NFC after JB update?

My phone is not detecting smart tags since i updated to JB. if u find any solution please let me know.
