Hi Everyone,

I really need to have this thing fixed as It gets REALLY annoying. My Xperia V is rebooting about every 20minutes while I'm listening to the music, or using other apps (ebook reader mostly). I thought it might be an app-related problem but it seems as if it is not. I tried to use the phone in the safe mode (as suggested in one of the threads in here) but that didn't solve the problem - THe phone is new, I bought it last month in Denmark and it's up to date with the system updates. What can I do??? Can somebody from the Sony Care write how to proceed with this case? THanks.

beside this and quite dissapointing battery life - I like this device.

I am from Norway and have been in contact with support, only solution is repair the with software, it does not fix it. Then sent my phone in for repair, looks like they have done the same thing, still no success. In the last 3 days I have so far had 6 reboot, random. It seems to be linked to overheating, but I have not used more than 3 apps at one time(GPS, music and bluetooth). It is quite frustrating.

@ sam- Actually it is a partial fix. i still have unexpected reboots but not so frequently. You can try just to turn off those application from settings-> applications -> all applications ( tab) then then select smart connect and click on deny button .

Everything you said was the exact same experience happened to my xperia v. I have been suffering for six months going back and forth at the Sony service center but up to now my phone restarts on itself. I've told the service center technician that it could be the battery but they said my battery is fine and charging properly. My phone doesn't restart when it is hook to a charger. So I really think it's the battery.

Hi.

My Xperia V also restarts a lot.

Actually, I have isolated the restart problem on my phone. It happens when I take the train from my home to my university, and it allways happens when the train passes a specific city (Sorø, in denmark). So, the restart problem is, in my case, when the phone is canging to a new carrier-mast.

It is not dependent on what time on the day it is, or if the phone is on "Safe mode". I have tried activating "Flight mode" when using the train, and guess what - the phone dosen't restart. I've done dosens of times, and every time the phone is on flight mode, it DOSENOT restart, and vice versa.

All in all, I have a phone that dosent "support" mass-transit or moving it across the tele-networks. Sure hope the 4.3 update is fixing that.

Can some of you people try and see if it helps your phones?

(BTW: I have tried to repair the phone several times using sonys tools)

BBTW: the speakerphone-option dosen't work during calls. Do you also have that problem? (for danes: Jeg kan ikke sætte den på hæjtaler-funktion under et opkald, hvilket er vildt irriterende! Jeg har fået byttet telefonen 3 gang til en ny, pga det).

I have uploaded a picture of the battery usage when the phone is takeing its restart- when commuting to university:

BTW: The phone had been on for about 10-12 hours , and not 5 hours like the photo says (i took it out of the carger on the morning, and took this picture in the evening. Dont know what to make of that.

My phone reboots when I exit metro station next to my work.

Does anyone know if Android 4.3 update fixes this problem?

m_pi
