Hi. I used my Sony Z in a swimming pool. Took some pictures under the water, after that its turned off. When I went home I noticed that the indicators are pink, all off them. I triple checked the seals before I did put into the water, so I dont konw how could this happend. The phone is not switching on and when I try to charge its vibrates 3 times and thats it. Some can help me what shall I do now?

to be honest we have talked here about serveral ways to dry the phone on this forum, waranty will claim you did not close the covers properly - I'm not going to get into that right now but you have a slim chance of getting it repaired for free so

If it was me and I wanted to dry it out and hope that not damage has occured I would remove the back cover and remove the main mother board and take off it's covers then dry the components with a hair dryer ensuring that it is completely dry everywhere inside, note that I am simply offering you an unofficial option that is down to you to proceed or not

once you do this it will definately not be covered by warranty so you have a choice to make, also after reaasemby keep the phone away from water

here is a video showing how to remove the back cover etc

http://blog.gsmarena.com/sony-xperia-z-teardown-video-makes-it-look-easy/

Yes thank u, I already saw this video, but I dont think Im able to that, only if its no other way. Also ther is an other think, that last week I sent the phone to repair, because of a charging problem. they fixed it, but maybe thay srewed up something, and thats way the water went in. cus I 100% sure the seals were closed.

well that changes things in your favor - I suspect they didn't seal the phone properly - it gets vacuum tested at the factory but I hardly think a repair center has the facilities to do same

You have grounds for a good argument and I do wish it goes well for you

regards

you can always fall back on my suggested solution if needs be

manuall to the phone xperia z did mention not to use the phone in swimming pools since it's only water resistance not 100% made to have in swimming pools so, it also can be in 1 meter deep water for 30 minutes max so if yours was deeper that could be reason why water came into your phone since the deeper it is the more pressure it is to phone and that will then make water leak in anyway.

firstly it wasnt deeper then few centimeter, secondly, if its cannot be use in a swimming pool, than why the Sony make commercials like u can??

lol so they got commercial showing it in swimming pool? well if you check your phone manual you will see it's not for swimming pool use, so it would be really weird seeing commercial from sony showing you it can be used in swimming pool whille manuall says it's not for swimming pool, quite funny xD

difirent is phone only handles max 1 meter deep in water for 30 minutes, having it deeper would make pressure to phone and then water will begin to leak into it anyway. So thats the diffirence to why it says in manuall not to have it in a swimming pool, whille Xperia ZR is more sealed and made for it.
