Hi i just found a fix for the led not working in stamina mode

And i think if a dev on xda can do it even sony would be able to fix it

copy the link in the address bar of your browser it works then

now i see why the link dsnt work because when you click on the link it omits : and the link starts with http// instead it should start with htttp:// so just add : after http and you are good to go:smileywink:

Actually I don't think it's a bug, if you guys see the LED carefully, you should find that it's not a LED but a OLED just like a small display. Maybe it needs more power than we expect so Sony turn it off when STAMINA online. But I'm not totally sure, we need a official confirm.

even if it is an oled it wont draw a lot of power from the battery

i think its a basic 101 feature that every phone should have and the led should work always with or without stamina mode

It wouldn't be real smart to find a work around to make the LED or OLED work by yourself....just sounds like trouble really. In a conversation i've had with a sony rep they said they're well aware of the issue and a fix will be released within a future update...it's just a waiting game =/

Yeah true it may be trouble

But when i pay over 600 euro for a phone i expect it to work perfectly

Sony should have though about this and fixed this bug before releasing the phone

But now they just want us to wait without any news about when would it be fixed

I agree wholeheartily - lost important family news due to using Stamina mode with silent the first weekend with ZL ($624 dollars).

Read on Sony developer site they extoll this "accomplishment" yet vibrate is enabled?!?!?! WTF - activate a motor over an LED?

They've taken enough heat so hopefully a real fix is implemented - Wonder if Stamia ROM/OS upgrade or standalone SW push? Warranty keeps me from Flashing phone for a while so reliant on Sony to "fix" stuff which is so painful!

XDA also have a mod to increase intensity of LED Flash - How amazing would that be! Put that into the phone, fix Stamina and give users something!

Basic 101 use of a phone (Perhaps not for Sony users) and hopefully addressed.

All Sony has to do is offer an option to disable/enable LED notifications when, where!

"Style" over function you get an over sized OLED display in place of a smaller, brighter LED. You need to look straight on and see if it's flashing to begin with - just like the big 5" screen. Enable Stamina and it's a lovely shiny black brick. Comically, you can add services to Stamina and enable sounds - moot point if in silent! Basic conditioning from phones (Not Sony) to see a flashing light when you get any form of message especially in Silent mode (work, social gatherings or a lot of places you take a phone). Stamina or No Stamina mode!

Presently no Stamina mode and wow, does battery life take a hit!

@greggmancan first of all rooting or flashing your phone doesn't void your warranty. Your warranty gets void only if you unlock the bootloader

And sony please show that you care for your customers and fix this asap , a guy on xda can fix this so i am certain it would be easy for such a big company like sony to fix it

For many months now, 2011 Xperias are suffering from a notification LED bug and Sony still refuses to provide bug fixes or at least further information.

It would be interesting to hear if this issues have the same cause and probably what can be done to fix them.

Sadly, in countries like Canada, US where phones are still "locked" and subsidized by carriers, running a custom load does void warranty. DRM used to count changes. Have to go a year when "warranty" is up - if phone dies, buy a new one! Why buyers remorse on getting a Sony ZL is kicking in. Being at both carrier and Sony mercy is brutal. Freedom is almost a full year off!

That's why i always buy the unlocke versions they are so much better no boundations at all

and i had xperia x10, xperia arc, xperia u none of them ever faced issues with the notification led

cmon sony xperia z is your flagship dont do the same with us as you did with xperia s users

There is a guide somewhere to get a locked sony to unlocked standard Sony rom and that way you can at least get the updates from Sony then. Maybe that helps?

That guide explains flashing of a stock ftf file using flastool

But he can;t flas his phone because on flashing he will void his warranty as his phone is locked by his carrier

Thanks - know "how" to do it, point is WON'T. I want to keep the warranty (Good one year) on my $679 phone! The simple fact is Sony shipped a less than "stellar" flagship phone (Take in to account camera issues, Stamina mode problems, and overall stability) then offered so many variations it's created a development nightmare. All while releasing more NEW phones (Typical Sony). Regrettably their current support model makes reporting/tracking issues a joke. Same problem(s) have been posted as new discussions, worded different 15+ times. Sony has posted responses in other threads so there is hope these issues will see the light of day and get fixed.

Only ROM for my "variant" of the ZL is what I currently has installed, so debranded would be same heap of quirks, annoyances and random crashes. So practiced in reinstalling this thing that if/when a new ROM or the hallowed 4.2.2 upgrade comes I will be able to whip through it quick!

My S3, although not perfect had updates - ROM fix within a month, OS patch within 3 month, and OS upgrade in under a year. If rumours of sales in the 4.6 million range for this line of phones is true a congratulatory hurrah, followed by a we will offer better support needs to be stated by Sony.

i just posted a thread on this it is clear to me that my question remains unanswered for now

i am not going to screw around in root folders whatever and possibly deform my phone's core structure had enough problems already

patiently waiting for the update if one will ever arrive

Finally figure out and got a FIX myself

1. Keep your "Stamina mode" on.

2. Add "devicemonitor" to your white list.

3. Done and enjoy your LED in all colors
