I am concerned about it running more stable without a SIM. If you do not get the error at all with the SIM removed I would advise looking at getting a SIM swap.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Hello,

I have a XPERIA mini (ST15i)

9 Month warranty left

not rootet

only apps from the play store

Edit: Phone is from/was bought in germany (if this helps anyone)

The description of my problem:

It startet about two weeks ago. My last Update of the phone was at least half a year ago, so I did one with the build-in update app.

After this, I got randomly about every two days a reboot. As i'm using both WLAN and Bluetooth very often, I'm not able to say, if they were related to these Connections.

The reboot procedure was as follows:

suddenly blank screen, hard keys w/ no lights

reboot with Sony logo, Xperia logo

Unlock Screen

Screen to enter the SIM card PIN

Homescreen

Nothing unusual. But now, I have only a few seconds or actions on the screen an my phone starts again with a reboot, same procedure.

I tried several times with plugged/unplugged power/data cable/sd-card or Bluetooth/WLAN/Connections on/off, nothing helped.

Only when the SIM-card was not insertet, the phone runs more stable.

So I put off the battery for about 5 minutes and after that the problem seemed to be solved.

But as the reboot loop reoccured more and more often, I looked up the problem in this forum and did actions according to similar posts (e.g. the bluetooth/rebootloop post).

I did the following (in this order):

reset to factory defaults (yes, i did a backup)

update with PC companion (woohoo, a new android)

update with Sony Update Service Tool (about twice, I think)

delete and format the SD-card

Repair Function of the PC Companion

Result: With every action it got worse. Now, I have only a few seconds after the reboot, everytime. No possibility to exit the loop via unplugging the battery for hours.

Phone: not usable anymore.

Because the Problem didn't occur before the update, I guess, it is software-related.

Is there any possibility to do something or do I have to send the phone to Sony (by the way, I didn't find any post adresses on the page)?

Today I finally found the time to care again about my Xperia mini.

Right now, as I again tried the SUS and turned off any programs and services on the pc including firewall and virus scanner, the phone runs stable - as long as the power cable is plugged in!

Once I plug off the power cable, I got a reboot loop. And now, the loop is like the one from the bluetooth/rebootloop threat. Only difference: I didn't change anything in bluetooth settings.

As this is no solution, I did the PC Companion repair process (as stated in the above mentioned threat) again - with no effect.

It seems to me that this issue is a software problem, as it occured after an update.

I do not want to void the warranty with flashing the ROM or anything.

Also, similar problems are ocurring on several other phones this month. So I doubt the effectiveness of sending in the phone and I claim they only would reset the phone to real factory defaults - which leads to the same issue when I update the phone again...

Is there any solution from the sony side?

Nachricht geändert durch INETjunkie (after a few more attempts of updating...)
