batery life problem

hi this is my situation,

I have xperia arc s and i made update of last version and actually I have android 4.0.4, but batery life is extremely to short.

and when i check what uses my batery it says that display take 50 % even that display light is set to minimum.

im really nervous because is immpossible to charge 10 times a day, compare with previous version i had Android 2,3(im not sure which 2, what)

please can you help be what to do, how to extend my batery life

i read all comments but there is a bit complicated, can someone explain clearly what to do, because oon my case there is screen which tooks 50 % of batery life

Did this occur directly after you updated the phone or was it present also before the update?

hi sorry that im answering to late but I was just testin my batery during those days. and yes this occurs directly after i have updated my phone, and im still having this proble, dont know how to solve it
