Xperia Go Bluetooth SPP (serial) pin loop problem

Hi,

The Xperia Go with ICS software seems to suffer from the same problem as mentioned in several other threads for other devices. There seems to be a problem with the Bluetooth SPP driver that was not present in earlier models/software. When using the SPP profile the Xperia software asks for a PIN to perform a new pairing, even though the devices are already paired.

See e.g. http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/58052

Xperia Go (ST27i), Android version 4.0.4, Build number 6.1.1.B.1.54. I get this problem when trying to connect to MyPhoneExplorer (using serial port profile).

Pairing works well. But anytime I try to connect to the service I again get a new pairing screen on the phone asking for a pin again. Whatever I enter the PC responds with "connection failed". I see the same issue trying to manually connect a Bluetooth serial port on the PC to the phone. I have tried with both MyPhone Explorer (which uses serial profile) and using terminal programs on both the PC and the phone.

This works with other Xperia (non-Go) phones on my computer. I have tried to sync the Xperia Go with other computers running both XP and Windows 7, neither works.

I have tried to erase the Bluetooth share database, this also did not help.

It seems that something is broken with the SPP support in the Xperia Go. It does not realise/respect that the phone is already paired with the PC. This impacts e.g. MyPhoneExplorer and also a lot of Bluetooth-attached devices (car diagnostics, heart rate monitors etc) that use SPP.

Peter

I am on B.1.10, and I have random disconnects from my car BT.

This is very annoying because the least thing I want when I drive is to fumble with the phone.

I do not know i it's the same issue of the OP, but the only workaround I found is reboot the phone.

Nonetheless, after a while it will disconnect again.
