Hi, I'm using 4.3.4 rom and I found the android OS usage is around 20%-30% even higher than screen during 10 hours standby period, when I use my phone, the wakeup time would be decreased but if it still increase automatically in standby status even I set off my mail push(data sync), any clues? Thanks.

First of all - by ROM you mean you have customised your phone i.e. it is none standard - if so may I suggest you engage the source of your firmware for support - this is the official Sony Experia Support/discussion forum nobody here has any idea what you have done to your phone

I might be tempted to customise my ROM once I'm sure the phone is stable in stock form, I'd have thought that was a very obvious thing to do on a brand new divice

secondly I am puzzled by you post - you say the Android OS is using more power than your screen in standby - isn't the screen off in standby - am I missing something ?

Thanks for your reply, the ROM is from official, just upgraded it from 3.5.0, the 4.3.4 is 10.1.A.1.434, not android version, sorry for that.

Secondly, yes, after screen off in standby by power button (not some kinds of lock softwares), the keep awake time count of 'Android OS' will increase even data sync is off, the power usage % be higher than screen.

I think Android OS should be less than 10%, 3%-5% is perfect in normal , am I right?

don't forget the power usage is a percentage balance between everything on the phone, when I first got mine the screen was showing 90% - that was because I couldn't put the thing down lol

The screen now shows about 30% with OS and media server coming in 2nd and 3rd depending on what I'm doing

This usage profile will change as you use the phone and do different things - it is not representative of battery drain it is simply how the power is being distributed

so if you are getting a full day out of your phone with moderate usage then that is good, as the battery conditions it will get better and better - and also not to forget about the new toy usage aspect

it all sonds good to me

Just be careful what you install and remove any antivirus or utilities that try to take over resource management - if it ain't broken don't fix it

you need to try and get your head round this percent thing

my phone has been sitting on the charger all night

power usage is OS 50%

Screen 9%

wifi 8%

these readings mean absolutly nothing when you consider that they represent only 2% of battery usage, so the OS has used 1% of my battery in 2 hrs - my battery is showing as 3 days SB and if I turn off the wifi it's nearly 5 days

try and get your head round this
