Sony claims that p has britghtess screen due to whitemagic technology.

But my question is that if it's big innovation then why don't they are using in other devices

If WHITE MAGIC technology is used in other phone then, they'll have to reduce pixel density of the screen which is not a good trend among smart phones these days...

because it has so many flaws. first of all blacks are really poor compared to other LCDs. secondly its backlight changes continuously (even when auto brightness is off), and the screen can save power only when there isn't anu pure blue red or green subject. if in the freame appears any such subject then phone has to increase backlight and not to use white pixels so the 1/4 area of the screen is wasted and contrast reduses noticably.

and yes maximal brightness is good but beyond 75% color space changes and it becomes ugly and untrue, there's some noticable posterization but anyway, outside it's not that distracting.

overal I don't think the screen is bad but this technology has no future and it is clear.

Overall your answer is correct,but you have to admit that the screen is one of the clearest of any market,better than that of some phones released in 2013.Somebody posted this video before and i want you to see it also

there is little value to so-called brightest display if it can't display colors or black levels accurately. honestly how much do u use phone in bright sunlight.

Any workaround to contrast issue?

Those are differences that only a graphics designer and photographer sees anyway. A normal person wont see a difference. And its really not necessary to have super exact colors on a freaking smartphone anyway.

I love the brightness, especially because I dont use it only inside. No other device offers so much visibility in bright sunlight. Not even my expensive transflective screen in my car.

do you like the WHite MAgic technology of the xperia P or not?

i always make fun of this feature haha.. i have a lot of friends who use iphone and samsung and when they try to make a joke with my phone comparing my xperia P to them i always say ok ok now lets have a contest on the phones display..tadaaaa!!! xperia P wins! and they will just say what the heck why is your phone so bright?! i would just say,SORRY GUYS, ITS SONY XPERIA P, go ahead and throw away your pathetic phones! hahahahaha

i guess they opted to place it on our phones as a pilot project, and having seen its positive reviews theyre now out to enhance the technology! I like the setting.

Xperiment p device whitemagic technology is just experiment . Which happened due to erission and sony development team. but there experiment result we as consumer are facing.

Even bravia engine is just another battery draining feature (why the hell 1300mh )

Manytimes I feel that I buy a xperiment series device ie Xperia p

Sir if you compare noise level in pictures by iPhone and xp then iPhone wins if you compare on battery even then iPhone wins... You won the competition on brightness basis but what the use of brightness if your battery drains

we all know that iphone and samsung has their specific edges compared to xperia P. but dude you need to understand that i love xperia P phone. i dont like samsung and iphone period.

In the battery matter i am not very sure the iphone is so superior...anyway,in the way of how you see pictures and about the screen,i think xperia wins.

It all on us on what to choose.iphone samsung yeah they are great phones but i cant say that they will just beat my xperia p,i wont let that happen.i compare my P to the iphone 3gs and 4s and honestly,xperia P killed them with some features.so for me,xperia will always be my brand.

battery? I thought the my Xperia P would lose on that, yeah my Xperia P drains fast when used so much ,around 5-7 hours, but I'll share you my experience with my Mom's Apple IPhone5 , we both have the same time charging our phone completely , then after charging we immediately used it and play some games , temple run 2 for me and doodle dash on iphone5, and guess what , my Mom's iphone 5 drains its battery fast , about 4hours, mine lasted for about 5hours and 20 mins,

ALSO , my Xperia P and the iphone 5 is on both half brightness (yeah we all know Xperia P is brightest here since half the brightness of the P = full brightness of the iPhone5)

yeah I'm happy too on my Xperia P , my Xperia P has fallen to the floor 3 times and it doesn't get the screen wreck(though there are few dents on the upper right edge which is unnoticable) , my Xperia P is also better than the Galaxy S2 interms of contrats, I don't like the oversaturation of the Galaxy S series, and because I took so much care on the software of my P , I've never experience any hard Lag , and application crash (some on low quality apps on playstore).
