Xperia P transparent bar button sensitivity problem?

I own a Xperia P and I bought it like maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. It was working perfectly fine till the transparent bar started giving me problems. The problem with it is that it's really sensitive. No matter how I hold it, whenever I try to open an app or when i'm typing or using it, the transparent bar gets absolutely sensitive with the buttons on it and it literally 'clicks' itself and closes whatever i'm doing. I'm not sure if any Xperia P users have come across this problem, but it really is starting to make me feel frustrated. Most probably it's only been about 3 weeks since I have bought this, everything else works like a charm till today, but just the transparent bar being 'buggy' till a week ago. Not sure what's wrong with it. It's really really sensitive. Has anyone come across this problem yet or is it just my phone?

Couple of suggestions, firstly are you using any kind of case on the device that could be falsely tricking it in to thinking that the bar is being activated?

Second option it to run a software repair using either PC Companion or Sony Update Service Update service - Sony Smartphones (Global UK English) . Make sure that you have backed up your information such as contacts, sms if you have any you want to keep. The phone will be wiped back to factory settings but it will eliminate a software glitch that is causing the problem.

If this doesn't resolve your issue I would suggest contacting your local service centre with a view to having the phone looked at under warranty (if appropriate) Contact info – global contacts - Sony Smartphones (Global UK English)

Hope it helps!

This extreme sensivity could be hardware fault, but it is too strange.Anyway, take the phone to a sony centre.I do not think it has anything to do with the software.

Have you tried rebooting it? I rebooted it and it went well. Then the problem occurred again and you just have to reboot it. It's not the best way but it's one way that works.

Sceptical abt service center addressing issue. Afterall phone is made in China. And sony service centrrs are terrible.so I will live with this problem for few months.then wud sell it
