Xperia S Wi-fi and GPS not working

Sir, i have Xperia S i have using the phone from so many time suddenly from today morning i am trying connect wi-fi but its not working, when i trun on the wi-fi and scaning for network its not working i also try gps the gps is also not working only bluetooth is working i have latest firmware updated earlier build number 6.1.A.2.55, after that is working fine, just from today morning its not working i have tried the sony repair my phone from desktop still its not working is there any hardware issue.

I suggest that you try to run a software reinstall using SUS.

If the problem still remains you should contact your local support team, to have the phone examined and fixed at an repair center.

I also had the same problem and i tried "Settings Reset" and "Factory Reset" and it solved problem 2times but again Wi-Fi stopped working and i tried above steps but failed. So finally ran software re-install but that too didnt't solved problem.So, i unlocked bootloader and wi-fi worked fine thereafter. But now again after a month i'm experiancing same problem.

I never had such problem in earlier build 6.1.A.2.45. But after updating to latest firmware 6.1.A.2.55 I'm experiancing problem.

"SONY XPERIA SUPPORT"- As you can see that setting reset and factory reset solved problem couple of times, and unlocking bootloader too can solve problem, but running re-install didn't solved problem, so according to me it may be a bug problem and that can't be sorted out at a repair center.

So pls get this bug fixed as soon as possible.

i have the same problem , i tried software repair several times , do the factory reset but i have still the same problem , it's a shame for company like sony , i payd for xperia S ,their slogan is make you believe but this kind of problem is going to make me believe other brand like samsung...

the wi-fi after upgrading doesn't work and change my "smart phone" to "stupid phone", after a delay to release a jelly bean for xperia s this kind of problem make me sorry for sony ... what are you exactly doing in this company?!

after update to JB xperia s,sl,acro s in iran all have same problem that wifi doesnt work.

it will work by change the Mobile operator by market enabler app or airplane mod.

maybe it cause of google prohibition.sony plz solve it.

i live in iran i wish never born there

when i and all off people in iran update our phone(xperia s & sl ) to jb 4.1.2 the wifi dostnt work

but if put simcard (mci or irancell operator) put out phone wifi work

i have this phone for almost 6 mons and i now how to use it plz dont tel us how can i turn on wifi

plz solve the problem

You can never chose where you are born but you certainly can chose which network you use. It's up to each country how they manage their networking, nothing Sony can do.

the net work dosent problem wifi jb 4.1.2 has in sony s & sony sl

i have sony t(4.1.2) and sony u but in both of them there isnt wifi problem and i can conect with wifi to network

when i had ics 4.0.4 it dosnt wifi problem and i could conect my network

It's a hardware problem...I had the same problem with my Xperia S and I tried factory reset, software repair, rooted phone and installed vaarious roms but that didn't solved the poroblem, So I showed my Xperia S at a repair centre and they said it's a hardware problem and they changed the IC reated with Wi-Fi and now the Wi-Fi is working smoothly with no problem.

Hi Buddy...u r right at ur place n even I feel that it's not right especially for a company like Sony. But we have to understand that any electronic or machine may suffer from some problems. n by the way Sony is better company in terms of Quality as compared to Samsung. No doubt Samsung is doing quite well in android market but it's devices may also have some problems.

the thing is when we upgrade our phones in iran to JB the wi-fi doesn't work and we know it that it's not a hardware problem because when we set the phone to the flight mode or remove the SIM the wi-fi works good and now we want sony to make a solution for this problem ASAP...

my dear it is not hardware problem why? beacuse when i back to ics4.0.4 from jb4.1.2 it(wifi) work

in jb 4.1.2 when put SIM out of phone the wifi is ok i think jb4.1.2 has problem with operator in iran

and u dont think all of the xperia s& sl in iran have hardware problem so the sony company should be closed

Deare sir : i m frome iran . i updated my sony xperia s to jb . but , wifi and gps not worked , so i downgrade cellphone to ICS , problem resolved . please help me

If your phone works well without a SIM card, shouldn't you be asking your operator for a new SIM card instead of Sony? It is very likely due to the incompatibility of your SIM rather than the software.

no beacuse in all of android exsept android jb4.1.2 it workd so SIM hasnt problem and i think just jb4.1.2 have problem whit all of operator(irancell . mci . taliya .) in i thing sony wants pepole in iran cant conect to wifi

Could it be because there is a change in OS kernel that caused this to happen since no where else is reporting this issue? It's not that you cannot to WiFi, it's just unusual way of connection only without SIM or in airplane mode.

root your xperia

off the wifi

install wifix manager with root access

chenge the countery code in advance configoration to us

on wifi

enjoy

make sure off the wifi befor tern off your phone and if you want use your wifi agin

chenge countery code agin in app you installed (trun off will chenge the code too iran again )
