This type of reset doesn't normally affect user data but just in case, back everything up anyway.

Hello!

If you are talking about the Reset-function found in "Start - Settings - System"-folder,

it WILL erase all your contacts and messages and bring the phone back as it was when it

left the factory.

This can be a good thing to do now and then, but you will have to input all your personal

information (like contacts, programs e.t.c) afterwards.

I recommend using Microsoft My Phone for easy backup. Just connect to a WiFi network and

run the program, you'll find it in the start-menu folder on the phone.

Just to second Prydplante you should be aware that if there are problems in your X2, and you install everything from a backup, you may also install all the failures again. You could try the soft reset first. Press the reset button on the back or remove the battery for some seconds.
