For me , front and back plates fine, but finding the soft (ish ) coating on the skeleton is very easy to rub/knock off/mark when in pocket, which gives the edges a rough feel

Hi.

Can anyone else give me some feedback on how they are finding the build quality.

I've had my Z just over a week and while the front / sides all seem very well put together the glass panel on the back is showing 2 cracks already. I'm in no way rough with my phone and even in my pocket nothing goes in with it so I can only assume these cracks have come from bumping off people.

I've also had it completely die on me form 87% battery and had to reset.

Mine is fine here.. no cracks or anything. I put it through a pretty tough experiance everyday in my pocket at work, lots of compression and slight twisting as I do a lot of lifting.

My phone while inside the pocket struck a table, and the glass cracked! Just 5 days after purchase I have faced similar situations many other of my phones but never seen it crack so easily. I got it from a local phone seller (as the phone is still not available through the agents) but such damages are not covered by warranty, so sad when i love the design (only the HTC one seems to better) specially when you compare to the plasticky and boring S3/S IV design.

With the new screen having the sensor and glass together, that means you have to change the whole screen, and sadly that an expensive and messy affair.

Not at all impressed with the build quality after this episode.
