Is Xperia P display really scratch proof?

I read in spec sheet that P has scratch resistant glass over its display. I'm not sure whether it can really protect the display from any scratches. They say scratch resistant and not scratch proof. It's confusing. Or, should I put screen guard on it to be on safer side?

i have the xperia p ,and i would say it would be best if you get a screen guard for it .

I have a screen protector on my Xperia P. The screen is still beautiful.

The reason I got a screen protector was out of fear every time I put my phone in my pocket with my keys since my imagination was telling me that even though the phone is made of a scratch resistent material, it doesn't mean that it is indestructable to sharp objects.

Also with a screen protector you don't get those smudges left by your fingers as much.

Ya I guess it's better to put additional screen guard on. So I need to buy good quality screen guard rather than cheaper ones. Thanks all.

XP already have shutter proof screen Procter.so no need any film

wrong, the Xperia P has a shatter proof film but it is not scratch resistant.

its your choice to put a another cover on it.as uliwooly said, it is only shatterproof that prevents the glass from shattering when the phone breaks. (from falling and breaking front screen) it is still advisable to use another cover for your phone even it has the shatterproof.

its easy to understand but if you choose not to put cover on it it is totally fine.

Yes,i have a little scratch from the first week i bought the phone,after that i got myself a screen protector.

i didnt buy any screen protector, is it advisable?? because when i bought it it says it has screen protector, hope im not too late to save my screen 😃

as you can read on other comments the xperia p has a pre-applied shatter proof film which is NOT scratch resistant.

Ok here's the thing, its not too late to save your screen. Please take note that xperia p has shatterproof covet and its plastic. Now to save THAT PLASTIC from scratch please provide another screen protector on it to avoid scratches on your shatterproof cover..

It is not advisable to use your phone without any protection on the shatterproof cover.but me, i personally use my xperia p without any cover,as i said IT IS NT ADVISABLE

The sensation is different when you have a screen protector,it is just like S.x:)))))),not as cool as without.but it is safer.
