Xperia Active feedback noise bug

Hi,

My brand new Xperia Active produces a feedback noise when I'm making a call with the protection covers closed and the problem appeared after upgrading to Android 4.0.4 indicating that it's a software bug.

This issue has already been discussed in the thread http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/48454 but the solution wasn't all that clear and I just would like to get clarified what solutions are available.

Does the phone have a hardware problem and must be swapped, or is it necessary to downgrade to a previous android version, or (preferably) is there a software upgrade available soon that will fix the problem?

Hi again.

I've now got the device back after almost two weeks of repairs.

Gasket mic with membrane is replaced.

Firmware is now 4.0.2.A.0.62

Android is downgraded to 2.3.4

The feedback noice is gone!

I will now upgrade to android 4 and see what happens.

Will return with a result shortly...

Hi.

Upgrade done.

Firmware is now 4.1.B.0.587

Android is now 4.0.4

Feedback noice is still gone! Wonderful!

I guess it was the mic gasket and not the android version. :smileyblush:
