Is there any update for Camera issue( half pic appears black on 8mp with flash) on Xperia P.

as for now there is no fix on this issue..but please do try using 6mp instead 8mp..in this setting you can use the camera with no problem even with flash on it..all of us here are still hoping that jellybean will still fix the camera bbug issue..goodluck

yes, it was a long time past issue, but the 6mp fixed the problem..not the same quality with 8mp but still works fine than having the bug with 8mp. nobody confirmed that it will be fixed in the next update but we hope it will be fixed. thats only thing we can count on right now..

This is for sure that this bug will be fixed in the Jelly Bean update!

In the leaked Jelly Bean, this bug was fixed.
There are also some fixes for rooted phones posted by developers, but I personally wouldn't recommed that.

We do understand and hope for the best that next update will rectify the 8mp camera issue. But do we have any conformation from Sony Tech Team that they have acknowledged this issue and will resolve it in next update?

This is my only concern rest I have no issue with my Xperia P.

As said,they acknowledged it..they know that issues and there are no straight answer for that at the moment. You can also root the phone cause its already fix in xda roms.

You will lose the warranty if you root,uliwooly has a lot of posts about rooting,visit his profile.

hey alex rooting doesnt void your warranty. I just repaired my rooted device in warranty and there was no issue.

Rooting voids warranty if and only if the process of rooting causes any kind of software/hardware damage to your device (To do that u have to be blind and ultra mega epic noob as ppl @ xda have made life so simple Thnx !!:smileyhappy:)

To any one who's phone is in warranty & wants to root my suggestion is

1) Do not unlock Bootloader untill your warranty expires !!(U wont recieve OTA updates though u can always flash the latest firmware for your device using flashtoolU lose those stock apps like track id etc.)

2)Root and install CWM recovery and Stay on Stock Firmware minus all the bloatware i just love it (Many mods available to make ur phone look like JB)

3)Fixes For most of the bugs available.

Now the Big question what to do if i want to take rooted device to the service center

1)Take a Nandroid backup of your device.

2)Reflash the current firmware using SUS or pc companion repair option.

3) Now u will have a stock unrooted device.

yes sanonweb, the SONY Team is aware of this problem, i bet they will fix this on the JB update and other minor bugs on the ICS update which made the JB update delay, i dont think sony makes the delay for the "marketing strategy" like others was saying. so enjoy the other things on your life, and trust the developers about this.

Yes,i understand that you do not lose the warranty,it is obvious that if everything goes fine,you do not need it,but if any problems occur when rooting,they will not help you for free...

Yes you will lose your warranty but you can download the original firmware using pc companion and sus,now your warranty will be back,procedures are all in xda..google it everything is there.jellybean will be released on May second week lets hope that it will fix all our problems

Check xperia blog sanonweb,the xperia p is in its final portion of the jellybean process. May 2013 is the target month of release.
