Phone won't switch off

The power button on the side seems to have stopped functioning. My understanding is that a short press should lock the phone and a long press should allow me to turn it off. But neither long nor short press has any effect. How do I turn it off?

You posted this in the X10 forums, so I assume you have a X10.

X10 does not have any power button on the side, it's at the top. The keys on the side are for volume and camera. Does the key on the top work?

You are correct, a short press should activate the screen. Does the phone work well besides the power button.

You could try repairing the phone software via PC Companion to sort out any software issues.
