Ive had my xperia s for just over a year now and ive been very happy with it so far, however over the past 2 weeks ive noticed that the phone battery is discharging at a very rapid pace. I always use my phone alot during the day and the useage varies from internet, texting, photo's, games and GPS apps, and I normally get about 12 hours on a full charge with the odd top up on my in car charger when using GPS.

But in the last 2 weeks ive been struggling to get 4 hours out of a full charge and the in car charger adds very little charge and actually discharges the phone if any apps are running such as google navigation.

Ive tried changing my car charger and had the lighter socket tested, ive tried using a new usb cable yet still only get about 2% charge in the car after an hours drive and the phone screen off. Ive uninstalled various apps, reduced the screen brightness to around 20% and turned off the bravia engine yet im still loosing 10% charge in 20 mins of just browsing through phone settings ( no apps running, wifi, bluetooth and gps off)

Is this anything that anyone else has experienced with a year old xperia and is the battery on its way out?

First try letting the phone discharge the battery completely and then charge it using the standard charger without starting the phone until the battery in the display is filled. Remove the charger and start the phone and see how it works.

If that doesn't help, is the car charger from us or is it a 3:rd party charger?
