Wifi Scanning, some work some doesn't work. HELP!

I've just bought an Xperia SL today. Everything is fine except the wifi.

I tried to scan the wifi. But sadly it cannot detect my house's wifi. I've tried to turn the wifi on and off and then on again, but still not work whereas my other devices (laptop and tablet) can detect the wifi.

However, my phone can scan my neighbour's wifi. So firstly I think it is because my home's wifi has security code. But, I also try to connect my Xperia SL to the tathered-wifi from my tablet which has also a security code. The result is my phone can still scan it.

So Im really confuse why my phone can detect both of my tablet's and my neighbour's wifi whereas it cant connect to my wifi.

Please help

Hmm, seems strange. Can you connect to any other wireless network at all? You could try turning security off on your home wifi, just for testing purposes. Also check that it doesn't broadcast at a wifi channel above 11, since that seems to create issues for some users.

has anything changed with your wifi set up

do you have broadcast SSID turned on.

Have you tried to add your home network by manually adding network using the known SSID for your wifi network?
