PC sees Xperia Z but no drivers installed

Hi all,

My Xperia Z turned up today (and very nice it is too!).

Everything is fine and dandy barring that I cannot get my pc to see the phone.

I've installed PC companion but cannot connect either via usb or wifi.

I can see in Device Manager that "6603" is seen by the pc, but there are no drivers, and I have been told by Windows 7 the installation of drivers was unsuccessful.

Any ideas on how I can get the pc to see the phone?

I think U have the samme issue as me. I had solved if half way only

Got it some how 😕 but still not right 😕

Xperia -> USB Connectivity -> USB Connection Mode need to be set up as MSC,

as on MTP phone is not chargin either, and on MSC got access to SD card only 😕

Hi zilhaax, I thought that when I read your post. Tried what you wrote but it hasn't worked for me at all. Can't see the phone or the sd card.:-(

Make sure u will uninstall that faulty c6603 driver from manager ( just right click and uninstall ) then reconnect phone

Got it fixed:

Turned off PC.

Unplugged USB from PC.

Unplugged USB from phone.

Took out SD card from phone.

Put SD card back into phone.

Changed USB back to Mass Storage Mode (from Media Transfer Mode).

Booted PC.

Reran Sony PC Companion.

Pluged the USB back into phone.

Plugged the USB back into PC.

Just like that.. BOOM! PC recognises the phone, installed drivers and I can see the phone in all Sony software like Media Go, File Manager etc.
