Xperia S and PC connection problems

I have had the Xperia S for 2 days , got it on a contract from Three Mobile, I have spent a good 10 hours trying to connect it to my PC , going through all the fixes on all the forums , the net result being that it does not work. So I have a phone that takes pictures that I cant download to my PC, a Walkman that I cant add my music to , a phone devoid of contacts because I cant transfer the 210 I have and I will not even think about doing each one manually. All because of a driver ?? MPT ..? So I call three mobile , although helpful , they basically quickly offered an exchange for another phone.. xperia T so I do a Google search for the same connection problem with the T.. what a surprise ! .. plenty of people having the exact same problem.. !! So here's my solution .. I have cancelled my contract the phone will be returned.. this leaves me to put my put the expensive case-mate protector on eBay at a loss, so all in all my experience for a first time Sony user is pretty disastrous. I wont buy another Sony phone and will return to my old HTC desire S with a PAYG sim and my Walkman MP3 player. However I would like to thank all those on here who attempted to post a fix .. just as a side note I asked the Three adviser if they had come across this problem , he told me that they had posted a thread on the internal help desk forum saying expect this problem to increase as more people buy the phone.. says it all really

Well, without knowing what you've tried I can't really say much. I've used Xperia S with a PC plenty of times without any issues, MTP is a standard used by almost all of our phones for connecting to PC.
