Help: Update Centre not working!

Hi, I'm using Xperia P and I'm having issues with the Update Centre app. The said app cannot detect updates for my phone even if I have mobile data or WiFi turned on. My phone's current build is 6.1.B.0.544 and I believe that it should be able to detect the latest ICS update. But it does not notify me that there's an update for my phone.

if you turn on your wifi > then settings > about phone > software update > there isn't any new update the answer it's simple

either the firmware hasn't been approved in your region/country and/or by your carrier

is Sony spying on users in this forum?

i think the ICS latest update has been approved in our region/country and/or by our carrier because my friend was able to get notification in her phone about the ICS update(build number 6.1.1.B.1.54)..

yep, we bought the phone in the same store. I'm now trying to update via SUS. After this, I hope to get updates via OTA. Do you think if I'll be able to update via SUS I'll be able to get notification on the next updates via OTA?

you should be able to, it's odd that if she got it you are not getting it unless her phone is unlocked and your phone it's branded to a network or you have different networks

I try to update my phone via SUS and PC Companion, it still showing that I have the latest software installed. But upon checking, my phone's current build number is still 6.1.B.0.544..

just to double check, both of you have the same carrier? and the phone are both locked to the carrier not SIM free?
