Incoming call ring!

Hello Everybody,

I have a new problem for the incoming call. My phone is work well until now. The phone doesn't ring and vibrate when incoming call. So, I restart my phone and I tried to call my phone but it's ringing vibrate the first time. Then the second time doesn't work anything. WTF? Anybody can hep?

Hello to you. Try going to Settings and choose Sound and Display. And you can check ringer volume and whether you want the phone to vibrate. And other things that you might have interest in. Hope this helps.

My phone is sometimes ringing and sometimes not. I have checked all settings, but sometimes only the display is getting on, there is no ringing or vibration. At other times, the phone's behaving normally during an incoming call.

I am more than satisfied with my phone, but this problem surfaced since yesterday. Its ringing in one call and silent in the next.

Any help anyone?

Yeah! My problem is same to u. Sometimes it's riniging and sometimes not but notification (msg ringtone) works properly. No one can help??????????????????????

I sometimes pick up my phone and accidentally hold the volume button on the side and put it in to silent mode by mistake. Could you be doing the same...?

eeeks! I know this mode but I think when press the volume button, it still in vibrate. I dun press any button. The ringtone is sometimes happen not always but message tone is works well. And I've another issuses about battery these days. When I charging the phone, I think it is hotter than the last time. The temperature of phone is 46'C at charging time. Is it the normal? Our weather temperature is around 30'C. Then I think it is faster to go off and the charging time is long. A lot of problem in X10i!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think my last SE W580i is better than it.

Most of the time I keep my phone on the working table. This problem I have noticed even before I have touched the phone before answering the call. So much so that I have given myself call from other number. Same problem- its ringing one call, vibrating in the next and utterly silent in the next. Of course, as said earlier, there is no definite pattern in this, but you get the idea I hope? Some internal wiring prob? I dont know, and I dont even know what those fools at Kolkata SE centre, India will do to get it right. If they keep the phone for review n repairing, I shall be utterly crippled.

When you press the volume switch on the side, the volume decreases, then it goes to vibrate, and then it goes to silent with no vibration. there is an icon at the top of the screen to tell you if it is on vibrate or completely silent. But I don't know why it would ring sometimes and not at other times.

I don't know what temperature the battery should be when it charges, but 46C does seem rather hot! My battery started off dying quickly and then got better, but now it seems to be losing power more quickly again. I don't think I usually have anything extra running in the background, though in my case I do sometimes forget to switch off the wifi when I go out.

Then might be it is a hardware prob. However, this is a big prob for me.

I think that you'll both have to seek advice from Sony Ericsson in your country. It is possible to set up different ringtones for different people, but not, as far as I know, to have it vibrating for one person and ringing for another. Might it be (I know that this is highly unlikely) that you have set mp3 ringtones for some contacts and that your media volume is set to silent...?

It is not like that. Suppose for example, I dial the phone from number X, it is ringing and vibrating, again I dial from X, it is completely silent. Get my point? Calls from same number are giving different ringer results.

Noticed one more thing. As soon as the call is coming to the phone, the strikethrough on the speaker symbol (for silent mode) is appearing on the notification bar, but vanishing instantly, whether the phone rings or not.

Can an update fix the issue?

Also can anyone tell me how to test the light sensor? Previously the phone used to light up when taken out of cover. Now it doesn't.

See, there is the proximity sensor in the phone at the top, just beside the ear piece. When you move the phone away from your ear or out of holder, the phone screen lights up. This is the light sensor.

I've recently been having a very similar problem.

Everything was working fine up until a few days ago (technically it started on monday morning). I went to bed with the phone plugged in for charging. My phone acts as my alarm clock in the morning and I have it set to one of the ring tunes. I got a bad wake up when my alarm went off with the most messed up sounding ring tune ever. I stopped the alarm and checked the alarms settings for the ring tune - to only discover that ALL of the ring tunes were missing. I freaked out a bit. Panicked some. Shut down the phone. left it off for about 30 seconds and then rebooted. Noticed that the phone took 2 or 3 minutes to boot up again. Checked the alarm settings again, and all the ringtunes were back again and it was set to my choice. This seems to happen now about once a day - quite random.

The other issue I noticed is my phone appears to lock up sometimes since this issue fist occured. Usually it locks up after I've plugged the phone in to the power for charging, and it goes to sleep (black and locked screen). Nothing will wake it up including pressing or holding the power button. I am forced to remove the battery for a bit and put it back in to force a reboot.

Unsure as to the exact cause I've uninstalled some games my wife placed on the phone the night before the issues occured. As I use this phone for work primarily, this is quite unsettling. Hopefully the removal of those apps will clear the issue up. However if it doesn't fix it, I am hoping that the 2.1 update will be released soon (on Rogers network). I really would hate to have to reinstall using the repair feature. Despite having stuff backed up, I some how doubt that the sony ericsson backup software does anything with Moxier Mail - which I use to keep connected to our company's Exchange server (and it was a paaaain to get it configured the first time).

most apps coming with features like standby prevent and/or sound manager. All of these try to manage phone system so conflict are easy to appear. Like a PC when you fill it with a lot of software specially without testing or restarting system everytime you do, because of this system would crash again and again.

This does not seem to be working when I take it out from cover. Anyways, its a minor issue. Major issue is the ringer one.

So you are suggesting I should uninstall some games which I have downloaded from Market (which I have) and check? Shall that help? Or should I just update the phone? Any ideas that might help?

Ppl out at xda telling me to uninstall atk. Saying perhaps that can do the trick. But am using atk for the past 3 months, while the ringer problem is from 5-6 days back. Has anyone any views regarding this?
