Camera After the ICS Update

Hi good evening (well, as for those living in the same timezone with me). I have a concern regarding my Xperia Go camera after the ICS update. It seems as if the quality has diminished to a lower one as compared to what I had with my GB. What should I do to make it as great as the one before?

Please do help, one of the main reasons why I bought Sony is due to its reputation regarding its good quality of camera Thank you very much! Wishing for an urgent reply regarding this matter 😆

Could you please describe what you find worse about the camera running on ICS?

Could you upload some comparison pictures?

I have an issue with the camera as well, I own many Sony produts and like many people I buy because of their reputation and the great experiences I have had with picture quality. When running GB the camera was great, many of my freinds were amazed at the clarity and quality of the pics this little phone could take. I updated to ICS four days ago once with pc companion and twice with sus and at that point every thing was running great 3 clean installs after factory reset. The only two things that are really bad are the camera and the microphone. The mic never worked in GB and I posted about it and it was ignored so I will go back to that post and post again.

The problem with the camera seems to be a light sensor issue.If the camera does not have enough light the focus is all over the place causing the lag you have been hearing about. It is allot darker on the screen view than before and the camera cant focus. I see on my back porch that has low lighting hardly any thing on the screen where as before (GB) it was was like looking through a piece of glass, with the new drivers its to dark and the camera cant focus. With a little more light it gets better and better.So until it gets enough light the pictures are ver poor and grainy

I took some shots in the morning outside and it was better but not even close to what I had before. By mid afternoon (sunny) I was able to get nice shots and the camera would focus and fire instantly

So Johan I hope you can confirm this some how (maybe like taking some pics with the Go on ICS) as not being just a few people with a problem and recomend a fix because right now it is useless indoors except for taking poor quality pics. I would appreciate a reply on this one unlike when I was ignored about the micophoe problem.

try repair via pcc, i think it fix the problems, i found many errors/malfunction after upgrade the first time, like laggy, dark camera, quick capture not working, but then after i repair it, the picture from the cam looks better i think. the phone just perform much better after repair. note: repair via pcc will wipe out internal storage. and you will need to struggle getting facebook contact photo.

at first i updated from ginger to ics complete lag.

then ive done a complete clean install , all works fine except for the camera.

same thing , in darker shots camera take forever to focus,

no chance to make nice shots, it lags all over the place.

No response? ( refer to earlier post ) This seems like a light sensor problem and is software related. Dark screen, dark pictures. I would love to use my camera anytime I like , not just outside on a bright day.

Having the same problem. It takes forever to take a shot and the result is very different compared when using GB. Pictures are darker even in 5mp mode.

Sorry for the late reply and upload. Here you go. This first picture was taken with lights ON (you can see that). Just look as to how dark it is

This second picture was also shot with the lights turned on. Look at the grains I am very disappointed. I didn't even use zoom here, what more if I used it. I adjusted the EV function to make it look a little brighter, so meaning, if I didn't adjust it, the area will be dark. 😐

I did factory reset on my phone, done clicking on clear data on Apps menu for the camera.

What should I do now?

Sony, please do help me

also here having the same problem. .camera is too dark. . is there any way fix on this??

the camera of the phone are the most great and valued asset of sony. . I hope sony will fix this

He said, reguarding this issue they have already picked this up and escalated the issues internally. Since this phone will get more updates it will hopefully be fixed soon. There is no date set when more updates will be out.

Yeah....camera is too dark when upgraded to ICS....please have some updates o fix this...I love my Xperia go because of it's camera when it's still in GB....fix this issue ASAP please
