why no jb update for tipo?

hiii

sony officially announced the devices which will get JB update. But bugdet handsets like u,sola,miro and tipo will not get update.why it is so?

One of the new bugdet releases of sony i.e xperia E has the same hardware ( except for processor which is 1000mhz and for tipo it is 800 mhz not a huge differnce ) and runs on JB . so why is the injustice?

i am sure ram and processor is not an issue! cause Google confirmed that the phones which run ICS will be able to run JB !!!!!! SO WHATS THE PROBLEM SONY??????

Xperia J has 1 GHz and Tipo, Miro have 800 MHz. That's the only difference. Still J gets JB and Tipo, Miro don't. What is this?

If Tipo, Miro can run ICS so smoothly, they will run JB too. As said previously that ICS is Beta version of JB. JB is a lot of smoother than ICS. Ask any Nexus owner, he'll tell the same thing.

If Sony can't customize JB with Timesacape for Tipo, Miro; I request Sony to give us STOCK JB. No Need of Sony's UI over JB. Timescape UI is the thing which is avoiding us to get JB.

Those who want JB will flash Stock JB, at least we can get JB user experience instead of Timescape. I've disabled all Timesacpe features on my Tipo and it runs so smooth!

ICS running device is also capable of running JB. It's the Sony who doesn't want to give us update.

2010 fisaco was different than current scenario

GB to ICS was a Major jump. It was the critical update.

ICS to JB isn't that Major, just performance improvement, little tweaks. GB to ICS was HUGE MODIFICATION.

Sony can push STOCK JB. No problem at all.

how was the 2010 fiasco different? Android 2.1 to 2.3 it's a HUGE improvement, remember there wasn't flash player support, nor apps2sd on 2.1

Oh, yup. 2.2 to 2.3 was major jump. 2.3 to 4.0 was Huge.

2.1 to 2.2 was too good. (app2sd).

I think you have your facts a bit wrong

the 2010 Xperias were released with Android 1.6 and after 8 months Sony released Android 2.1 and that was that, after the 2011 Xperias were released Sony decided to update the X10 to 2.3.3 full of bugs, but that was 16months after the X10 was released. sony did NOT released 2.2 at all, so the rest of the 2010 Xperias were stucked with 2.1 and even some X10s were/are stucked on 2.1

Android doesn't have minimum hardware requirements, you can run Jelly Bean on the 2010 Xperias

Okay, so its the Sony's fault. Sony not willing to give updates even if device is capable.

Sony doesn't even push the JB without customization.

I don't expect any Software support from Sony for Tipo/Miro. These are Low-end devices. These phones didn't give any HUGE Profit to Sony, that's why Sony is no more interested in giving updates to these models.

JB requires little high GPU power for Animations (Xperia J with Adreno 200 is very powerful to run animations and Tipo/Miro aren't).

It isn't necessary to have Complex and Superb Animations like in Xperia T, Nexus and SGS3, Note 2, etc.

Whatever the decision is we've to accept it. Can't change them.

can you give us a reason why the Xperia J and go can run JB but not the U and Sola based on what Sony said ? it doesn't add up nor make sense that the Xperia J can run Jelly Bean but none of the 2011 Xperias and/or U and Sola

For example, Anthony says that “screen resolution, hardware platform and RAM” are all considered when making the update. Whilst this may explain why the Xperia U and sola were overlooked and the Xperia go received the green light, it doesn’t explain why the Xperia J is being updated to Jelly Bean. Anyway, see what the Sony Mobile rep has to say below.

On why the Xperia U, Xperia sola, Xperia miro and Xperia tipo are not receiving Jelly Bean:

“The quality of Xperia’s software experience is dependent on a number of factors including: screen resolution, hardware platform and RAM. In the case of Xperia go, this combination came together in a way that meant the user experience running JB was not adversely affected.
Unfortunately, in the case of Xperia tipo, Xperia miro, Xperia U and Xperia sola this wasn’t the case – so we made the decision to keep them on Ice Cream Sandwich.”

On how the decision is made as to which Xperia to update to JB:

“Our priority has and always will be, to deliver the best possible smartphone experience – this means accounting for hardware, functionality and stability alongside Android version development.
As we are making the JB upgrade available to a considerable portion of our 2012 portfolio, finding a balance between these elements, means the process takes a little longer than if we had done it only for particular models at the high end.
We are continually investigating upgrades to the different/latest Android OS versions. As always, we will only share firm information when we’re confident of hitting the deadlines.
When we start an upgrade process we look for the way to get the very best out of the new software; that normally means starting with the most capable/latest devices. Once we’re satisfied that we’re really stretching the capabilities of that software, we then start to look at how we can re-create that user experience on earlier products. This takes a little more time but we believe it pays dividends in terms of the final product.”

On why the 2011 Xperia family will not be updated to JB:

“Xperia Arc S is part of our 2011 portfolio, which won’t be upgraded beyond ICS. The reason being – user experience is at the heart of our product development and support; after thorough evaluation, we concluded that the user experience for our 2011 Xperia smartphones will be superior if they remain on Ice Cream Sandwich versus being upgraded to Jelly Bean.”

I have seen your posts regarding this in numerous places already and we're monitoring them but as I said, right now I (or Jeff, Aimee, Johan or any other colleague of mine) can't provide any further info regarding this.
