hi, i recentlly switched to Xperia Z2. i was happy to have this beautiful set but i as soon i synced gmail & exchange mail, it started giving me trouble. Whenever i tried to access the call log or contacts, it crashed with following messages.

1. Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

2. Unfortunately, the process com.android.acore has stopped

3. Unfortunately, contacts has stopped.

I tried everything, searched the net and found many people have similar problem but could not find any solution. i was suggested to clear cache, perform factory reset and online repair/update the software but problem remained as it is. I kept on trying and finally after two days continuous hit n trial, i am using my Sony Xperia Z2 with no error.

What i observed is that this phone might have limited space for contacts. Though i always sync my contacts with all email accounts on all sets and most of the mail accounts are having duplicate entries, but i never faced this problem. there were around 34K contacts in my address book. I performed following steps.

1. Synced my outlook and google contacts.

2. Google provides option "find & merge duplicate contacts" in contacts options. performed that.

3. Deleted all mail accounts from the device.

4. First activated gmail account with all Syncronization options ON such as Contacts, calendar, mail, tasks etc.

5. While activating Exchange email, i un-checked contacts syncronization(becuase i already have got updated contacts from

    google.

My device is working absolutely fine and i did not face any problem again. My recommendation for Sony is:

1. Take care of phone book capacity issue in the next update.

2. Provide "Delete duplicate contacts" option in the next update

cheers
