Xperia P Notification Sound Problem

i am facing problem with notification sound. It works fine while any facebook notification comes but when some message comes, it doesn't work. Even when i get a message showing last call charges or any watsapp message phone just vibrates but there is no notification sound. However my phone plays notification sound while receiving facebook notification.

Please try changing the notification tone to something other than what is currently selected and see if this continues.

Welcome to the club mate...We all face the same problem...and yet no solution from support guyz or service centre...Few days back id asked thm to change the speaker or watever is causing the problem so they ordered a new part and replaced it...till now the sound is workin...Now lets see how it goes..

Kindly l'me know after a week or so how is it going. Also tell me which part they replaced so that i can go to service center and ask them to replace the same part.

Hi,

It is not a hardware problem guys. Just reset your phone to factory settings two times. I said TWO TIMES!!. If you still get the same problem (I strongly hope you wont get), try repairing your phone through SUS.

And yeah, changing the ringtone or other will not work, I know this because I too faced this problem once

I read other people's views also, they all tried what u said i.e. factory setting and phone repair, and it didn't help. They are still facing the same problem.

As per my knowledge timescape only gives u the recent stories, but not access to write on others wall...

Hey Guys,

I am also one of the victim of this ics update ... no notification sound whatsoever, after restart; phone starts sounding again, but only for 2 or 3 Hrs. I have visited sony service center, they did what we are doing after reading various comments here n there. And well, after lot of frustration, I found a thing called Safe Mode, you can start your phone in safe mode by following a procedure. You can simply google for it and will get first hit. Google for 'Safe mode start xperia phones' and btw I got Xperia P. Safe mode basically means .. it deactivate anything from 3rd party which came with this update ... and touchwood my phone is ringing since that safe mode thing.. i will find out which application is culprit .. if my phone keeps doing what it should do when receive email. Please try to do the same and tell me does it help !! You can go back to normal mode after restarting again. Link for you

Using Astro File Manger there is Notification folder in that Delete all the Notification tone . If u see the Notification tone again then delete that . I hope these may help Xperia P users.

I am using Xperia P. I upgraded to 6.1.1.B.1.54. Since then i am having the notification problems of incoming messages from the sim carrier. pleae help...

i have this problem and i solve it with this way :

Using Astro File Manger Or Any File Manager there is Notification folder in that Delete all the Notification tone . If u see the Notification tone again then delete that . I hope these may help Xperia P users.

it's Worked for me ...

i Don't Know Notification folder worked for what app ?!

I was also facing the notification issue, all of a sudden the notification stop working than i have to restart the phone and the notification would work for another 4-5 hours and again the same problem than after reading so many complain i came to know that most of the xperia p users are facing the same issue , and even the service center guys was unable to resolve the problem , so i tried some steps and it worked for me , i stopped update center and update service..i think in every 3-4 phone is sechdule to search for update through internet and once this process start notification stop working and after i stopped the update center and update service my phone notification is working perfectly from last 8 days... i came to this conclusion because when the notification sound was working i had checked the services that was running and once the notification stopped there was this two extra services that was running so i decided to stop the services and check and its work for me .. i hope it will work for other xperia P users as well i had also disable some time line services as well.

Let me know if it works for others as well

But i didnt connect to the internet, normally it stops ringing after i talk a call, b'coz call cost notification comes msg notification stoped after that, so sony pls fix this problem soon as posible, this problem continues for more than 3 months, but sony didnt make any action for this, pls give us a good reply

finally culprit is found ........

the application vch is creating problem is "Google Talk"

as v cant uninstall it, I disabled it by going to stetting, applications , all app dr ul find talk . disable it n restart ur phone

i had done it and did nt face dis problem since 2 days

so this may help all.
