MTP device - Sony tipo

I have bought a new Sony tipo ST21i 3 days ago. When I tried to connect the phone using PC companion, it shows me an error as 'Error in installing MTP device'. I tried everything - updating windows media player, changing the settings on my phone from 'MTP' to 'MSC' and again back to 'MTP'. Nothing worked. Also, I tried it with and without my SD card. No use - Same result.

Any suggestions or solutions??

Have you tried re-installing PC Companion and switching USB port on your computer?

Yeah I did. It works great in other systems using Windows 7. I'm using Windows XP. I suppose that's not a problem.

Hello Samuel,

I've read and I have my Xperia detected as MTP but it is not able to install the MTP driver correctly. The same phone on Windows 7 works perfect.

Any other idea?

I am still struggling with the problem. I have been using mass storage all these days. I still could not find a solution for the problem. Have anyone found any solutions for it?
