Before updating to ICS, I want to backup current firmware. I want to try this method:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/199652#199652

But there is no Repair option. Just pop up a window saying Android 4.0 and update to ICS is the only option. If I update to ICS, will "blob_fs" contain backup old firmware or new downloaded ICS firmware? Or there is other way to backup current firmware because I really don't want to lose my old firmware.

-----

I took chance to update and while downlaoding, I watch folder "blob_fs". Now contains 2 files that slowly increase in size so I pressume the are new firmware being downloaded so I stopped the process. I'm lost now, please help.
