Whatsapp application issue after update done

i ahve purchased sonyxperia p 2 months back and having an issue with whats app application it is installed but not goring forward after i put my no it is giving below mentined error ..I have tried after re installing it no. of time ..pls help for this issue

Error Message:-

Unable to connect .Please check that you are connected to the internet and try again.

Please reboot your phone if your connection problem persists.

********************

However all other application which are using internet are getting connected to internet properly.

So I don't think the problem is with internet connection.

Please suggest.
