text notification

when i am talking to a friend, i do get call waiting alerts,however when i recieve a new text there is no sound or vibration, even though the phone will be on either vibration or normal mode. i couldnt find any apps to solve this either. thanks in advance!

try Settings, Sony Ericsson (Application Settings)...and then messaging...notification alert tones are in there...

Get Handcent SMS application from th emarket. It has got the option to set alerts whilke in a call and has got many other useful features.

i did that, and all the options: delivery report, notifications, notification tone, and notification vibration are checked.

i had the handcent app, but didnt use it, and kept the one that came with the phone as my default. iv changed the notification settings on handcent and hopefully theyll work. my personal fave though is bein able to change the color of your led light (i chose magenta! ):smileyhappy:

If you like changing the colour of your LED lights, try an app called Blink. You can change the colour for email, missed call, sms, mms, battery low and a few others.

That's 'Blink - Flash LED in Your Way' by 'DownloadAndroid.Info', as opposed to the application that improves your mind and memory and so on.

I'm going to have to try it out. I have the pretty blue light to inform me of Handcent messages.
