Speed on Xperia Go only 600Mhz. Why?

After reading a lot of post in the forum it is clear that the Xperia Go doesn't run on full speed after update to ICS.

As one other author wrote "I've seen that after updating to ICS, the phone uses only 600Mhz (Max) and 200Mhz(Min) cpu".

How can this be?

Sony is marketing this phone as a dual core 1GHz device.

It doesn't matter how good the processor is if you in the SW use only a part of that capacity.

I think this is "false marketing"!

We don't know. But its true. Thats why the phone is so laggy at first time updated to ICS.

600MHz make the Xperia Go similar to my old HTC Wildfire S which is a low end device.

Doesn't this give us all the legal right to return the phone?

The phone is stated to be running at 1GHz, but in reality it is never going faster than 600 MHz.

I can't. I've set my phone's cpu at 1GHz. So Those app will show 1GHz.

Maybe somebody can can post some screenshots who hasn't rooted the phone yet.

ics set cpu speed to 200MHz in order to extend battery life. and at that point your won't be able to increase cpu speed w/o rooting your phone because it will require you root access to do that.

ics should work normally at that speed - provided your phone does not contain any programs other than those installed or packed with ics.

we should expect Sony to have this fixed with the JB OS, and run Xperia Go at max speed and at the same time extend battery life as being featured prior to release of ICS.

Then we are back to my original question, i.e. is it really legal to sell this phone when the SW is in this shape?

It is marketed as a 1GHz dual core phone and that is not what I get.

I am getting a low end phone running at a much lower frequency.

The processor Hz differs depending on use. A low frequency is used in idle and when needed it will hit max (1GHz).
